Prince William is often linked in good and bad ways to one sibling, Prince Harry. Prince William’s relationship with his step-siblings is complex, often overshadowed by his former bond and ongoing feud with Prince Harry.
Before marrying King Charles III, Queen Camilla had two children, Tom Parker Bowles and Laura Lopes, with ex-husband Andrew Parker Bowles.
It was previously believed that Prince William and Prince Harry tried to be cordial with their step-siblings for their father’s sake.
However, in recent years, this relationship has undergone a dramatic shift. Prince Harry has moved to California and cut ties with his relatives except the Spencers.
Prince William’s decision was influenced by some unsettling revelations about his stepbrother, prompting him to distance himself.
Sources close to Prince William told The Daily Beast that the heir to the throne wants nothing to do with Queen Camillia’s adult children.
Once Prince William discovered Tom Parker Bowles was caught using cocaine, he ended the short and superficial relationship that he had with the chef and cookbook author.
The Daily Beast shared that the situation is so bad that Prince William has more or less banned friends and family from mentioning the names of his step-siblings.
The insider noted: “He is not close to Camilla’s children, Tom and Laura. Indeed, one source, a mutual friend of the reluctant step-siblings. It is best to avoid mentioning Tom around William.”
Privately, Prince William has revealed that he feels nervous about Tom Parker Bowles because of his life choices.
The outlet explained: “Partly, this stems from William‘s nervousness about Tom‘s “rather louche lifestyle as a Mayfair bon vivant,” the source said. Tom was famously caught admitting to using cocaine by an undercover tabloid reporter in 1999, long before his mother became Queen. Given William’s general frostiness towards the wider Parker Bowles clan, Annabel’s ejection is no great surprise to insiders.”
It is believed that King Charles was aware of the split between Prince William and The Queen‘s children.
He has no plans to intervene because he has Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to handle, his health struggles, and the business of the monarchy.
King Charles decided to focus on the wars he could win and let Prince William do as he chose.
Some observers say that The Monarch does not like to get involved too deeply in family conflicts, he tries his best to remain above the fray.
