Taylor Swift is changing her tune on Kim Kardashian in a very subtle manner. However, she does not intend to do the same for Kardashian’s ex-husband, Kanye West.
The three celebrities have been feuding on and off for close to 15 years. However, after a very messy divorce in 2022, West and Kardashian are no longer playing for the same team.
The 34-year-old pop superstar has confirmed the new landscape by changing the title of her song “thanK you aIMee.” The track was featured on Swift’s latest album The Tortured Poets Department.
The hit song about a bully was seen immediately as a diss towards Kardashian because of the capitalized letters in the title. Swift never walked back the characterization.
Moreover, this week, she changed the title to “thank You aimEe” for a live version of the song. The letters Y and E are now the ones getting all of the attention instead of K,I, and M.
Ye is the name that Mr. West now uses. While Kardashian has signaled in recent years that she was done with the feud, the “POWER” rapper has not done the same, au contraire.
West, a real magnet for controversy, has recently gone after Swift in the song “LIFESTYLE (Demo),” a collaboration with Ty Dolla $ign and Lil Wayne.
In it, West shamelessly raps: “I twist my Taylor spliffs tight at the end like Travis Kelce.” West’s new album Vultures 2 with Ty Dolla $ign was not able to land number 1 on the Billboard 200 chart because of The Tortured Poets Department.
This adds a new layer to the iconic feud between the two entertainers. West had managed to land the top spot on this coveted chart with his previous 11 albums.
According to insiders, Swift now feels that she is the one controlling the narrative, thanks to her army of Swifties. Her loyal fan base will always have her back, and the group holds a lot of sway online.
A source told The Daily Mail earlier this year: “Taylor has humiliated Kim, and she knows that there is nothing she can do about it. Kim got what she feared was coming to her eventually and is now backed in a corner because she knows Taylor’s army will destroy her if she says anything.”
With the subtle change, Swift is letting West know that they have unfinished business. It will be interesting to see if he will be able to resist hitting back.
