Kelly Ripa has been an open book about her life. However, the TV host seems to have more to share, including what happens before she and her husband, Mark Consuelos, end up in the bedroom.
In a recent Live With Kelly and Mark episode, Ripa pulled out an article sharing tips to maximize the lovemaking experience.
The piece claimed the couple should enjoy a nice meal before that special moment in the bedroom. Kelly Ripa told the audience: “For more pleasurable sex, you should eat first. Apparently, I’ve been doing it wrong all these years.”
She confessed that she has a simple rule before lovemaking — no food at all — except a salad.
Kelly Ripa, always eager to share the most intimate details about her private life, said her husband knows when she orders a salad.
And he also knows that nothing will happen if she goes for dessert. Ripa shared that Consuelos dislikes desserts for apparent reason.
The former All My Children actress said: “Now you know, I have a very strict no eating thing before. He knows if we go out to dinner, and I order more than a sensible salad, he’s all bummed out. He gets bummed. He’s like, ‘Are you sure you want the burger?’ I’m like, ‘I’m absolutely positive.”
Mark Consuelos responded by roaring: “Dessert?!” Ripa revealed that her spouse “gets very sad” about her rule. The TV personality went on to share more about the article.
She said: “They say that soft caresses don’t feel as satisfying if you’re hungry. There’s a gut hormone that drives food motivation and increases [in] food intake, which is intrinsically linked to levels of pleasure. And so, it’s better to eat before you are intimate.”
Ripa concluded by breaking her husband’s heart. She revealed that the article did not change her mind or her rule. She said: “I’m sticking with [her] salad.”
Poor Mark Consuelos, he will hate desserts all his life. This is not the first time the couple has opened up about their sex life.
In an episode of Live aired in January 2023, Mark Consuelos explained that his daughter, Lola Consuelos, walked in on them doing the deeds.
He said: “She’s so excited to be living with us again because it’s her last semester in college. She’s not going to go back to her apartment; she’s staying with us. And you know what she does now? The door’s closed in our bedroom, and there is no knock. She walks in and says, ‘Hey girls!”
He talked with her and told her, “You’re so funny, and you’re just fantastic—but you gotta knock. ”
Ripa added: “Because, at this point, anything you walk in on is your problem.”
Consuelos responded by: “Well, be warned, Lola Consuelos. Cause this week’s freaky week, isn’t it? Yeah, this is January 30. We’re going to get freaky this week!”
The power couple still makes good TV together.
