However, the future Queen of England and her family are cautiously optimistic that her preventive chemotherapy is working.
The Princess of Wales was forced to make some tough and life-changing decisions to give herself the time and energy she needed to recover.
One of the most significant changes included Kate Middtelon’s announcement that she was resigning entirely from work.
She also stopped making public appearances, a significant change for someone known for her active involvement in various charitable and royal events.
Those close to Princess Kate explained that it was a challenging period of adaptation for someone who had been busy and working all her life.
Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond explained via OK!: “I think it has become obvious that she is facing perhaps the toughest challenge of her life, and that her illness has been extremely serious.”

She shared: “Hopefully, in the future, she will look back on this time with some positivity, in that she has been able to devote herself to her young family and be a full-time mum as much as her health has allowed.”
The journalist continued by saying Middleton must be grateful to have the unwavering support of Prince William and her parents, Michael and Carole Middleton, during this challenging period.
She added: “I’m sure she’s grateful that her family and close friends have formed a steel ring around her, protecting her privacy. She will speak about details of her cancer only if and when she chooses… which is entirely correct.”
Jennie Bond concluded by saying that she hopes that Kate Middleton will be well enough to return to public life at some point, but only when she is healthy enough and has soaked up precious time with her children.
