Tim McGraw discovered the high price his wife had to pay after he publicly expressed his political views.
This week, the country legend star surprised many by visiting his official Instagram account to post a lovely birthday message to his wife, Faith Hill, who turned 57.
McGraw and Hill have been married for 28 years and share three adult daughters, Gracie, Maggie, and Audrey.
McGraw posted a picture of Hill on the set of the Yellowstone spinoff series 1883 and penned a lengthy caption explaining how remarkable she is as a woman, artist, mother, and human being.
The proud husband wrote: “Happy birthday to this remarkable woman! My beautiful, strong, crazy, bad–s wife!!!! I love my girl with everything that I am and could ever hope to be! She is our beacon, our rock, our strength. The girls and I are so very blessed!”
He went on to say that their daughters have incredible role models in their lives.
Tim McGraw added: “Our girls could not have a better role model in their lives as how to be an incredibly strong woman.”
McGraw continued by making the birthday tribute a political statement by talking about the ongoing debate over the Supreme Court’s decision to reverse Roe v. Wade, rolling back the constitutional right to abortion.
The country legend quietly revealed that he and his family support Kamala Harris in this political race over Donald Trump because the vice president is fighting for women’s right to do what is right for themselves.
He explained that the government should not meddle in a woman’s decision regarding her health care before, during, and after pregnancy.
The icon wrote: “And how to believe in themselves and be in charge of their lives (every aspect of their lives)! Let’s honor the women in our lives with respect and make sure that we fight for their rights right alongside them!”
The post quickly went viral, and thousands took to the comment section to either applaud or criticize Tim McGraw and Faith Hill for their political views, highlighting the tension and division caused by the statement.
Many said it was beautiful to see a man from the heartland, deep into country music, become a feminist and honor his wife and three daughters by backing Kamala Harris.
However, others who plan to vote for Donald Trump, threatened to never to listen to the couple’s music again.
Some told Tim McGraw he needed to be educated more on the issues in order to voice his opinion.
Others slammed him for being another rich, out-of-touch celebrity like Taylor Swift, who jumped into the political ring to grab headlines.
