Ben Affleck is not following the trend of staying quiet while his ex-wife, Jennifer Lopez, goes on a breakup tour with a high-profile interview detailing their marital woes.
Like Brad Pitt did in his high-profile divorce with Angelina Jolie, the actor has decided to tell his side of the story to the media.
Ben Affleck, via The Daily Mail, made it clear that he is mentally prepared for Jennifer Lopez to talk about their failed marriage and her broken heart for the rest of their lives.
While he has accepted that portion of their unhappily ever-after story, he is not thrilled that Lopez did not give him the heads-up before her big sit-down with Interview, where she laid bare some of their most private and troubled moments.
Affleck is saying what he has never said about Lopez’s desire to discuss her most intimate thoughts — he does not need that in his life.
A source close to Affleck told The Mail: “Ben knows that she will talk about the breakup forever. He didn’t get a heads-up that she was going to talk about their relationship, but he assumed that it would eventually happen. It is a part of his life just as much as anything else; he’s never going to get away from it.”
The insider said Affleck is going to take another route — he will shut up about his life and focus on his career, particularly his upcoming film projects and his children.
The source revealed to the media outlet: “OK with however Jen has to deal with it, and is aware that his ex has always been one to talk about her personal life. People deal with loss and breakup in their own way, which Jen has to do, and Ben has to accept. He wants to keep some stuff to himself, especially major details about their relationship.”
Jennifer Lopez, known to share all aspects of her life in her music, videos, and documentaries, sat down with Interview magazine to reveal that her divorce from Ben Affleck almost destroyed her.
Two months after filing for divorce, she has risen from the ashes, ready to embrace the profound lessons that life and faith have been teaching her all along.
Lopez confessed: She candidly admitted, “The separation was exactly what I needed.” She added: “I think to myself … ‘Thank you, God. I’m sorry it took me so long. I’m sorry that you had to do this to me so many times. I should have learned it two or three times ago. I get it.”
Lopez, who was previously married to Ojani Noa, Cris Judd, and Marc Anthony, said Affleck’s split was the one that hit the hardest.
She confessed: “I hit … really hard over the head with a f–king sledgehammer or having a house dropped on me.”
She said the “old Jennifer is a dumb bitch and a motherf–ker for having a romantic mindset who loves being in relationships and wants to grow old with somebody in order to be whole and happy.”
Lopez said she feels sad and desperate to be single again, but she has finally understood that she can be happy and alone.
