Taylor Swift is a grown woman at the age of 34 who briefly dated British rocker Matty Healy. The pair met in 2014 and dated in the early months of 2023.
Swift and Healy did not work out because they eventually discovered they were incompatible. It is believed that endless nontrivial and sexist comments by The 1975 musician contributed to the breakup.
Swift is a singer and songwriter who has been honest with her fans about all aspects of her life through her music. On her latest album, she talks about the short-lived romance with Healy.
In “Fortnight,” Swift sang about how the brief relationship impacted her. In the song “The Tortured Poets Department,” Swift mentioned the typewriter that Healy loves dearly.
Swift used the song “Down Bad” to open up about her ex’s controversial behavior. The 35-year-old recently appeared on the Doomscroll podcast, where he discussed the romance and subtly tried to gaslight Swift into silence about her past relationships.
He said: “Last year, I became a more well-known public figure for many different reasons. The only reason that I was interested in it is kind of like what I was doing.”
Healy poked some artists who have become interested in their private lives as much as their art.
He claimed: “So I think that a lot of artists, they become very interested in their lore, or they become interested in the things that have happened outside of their art that people know about, and they want to address that. And fair enough, do you know what I mean?”
He concluded by saying that while he has written many stories about heartbreak and “all these stories about relationships” in the past, he is not doing it anymore.
Heealy claimed: “I would kind of just be lying if I made a record about, I don’t know, all the stuff that was said about me or my casual romantic liaisons or whatever it may be that I’ve kind of become known for, just because I was famous.”
As a zinger, he quietly let artists like Swift know that oversharing about their intimate lives is not interesting.
He said: “I think that that’s an obvious thing to draw from. And I’m just not interested in it. And I think the maintenance of the status quo is something that I always fight against. So the idea of making a record about something that personally happened to me, that by the time I put it out is gonna be like two years old, I see people doing that as well, and it’s not interesting.”
Swift clarified that she would speak her mind about anything and everything whenever she decided.
