Meghan Markle and her husband have settled in California, but the strength and depth of these roots will be tested in the upcoming years.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle moved to the United States almost five years ago to pursue liberty and the American dream of succeeding in their professional careers.

They landed major contacts with Netflix and Spotify and signed a multi-million dollar book deal with Penguin.

To the best of their abilities, the pair attempted to rattle the Royal Family and the monarchy with bombshell revelations and brutal accusations.

Some of their harsh words towards King Charles III, Prince William, and Kate Middleton reached some powerful ears.

Donald Trump, a former and newly-elected president, was angered by Prince Harry and Markle’s conduct towards the Royal Family and promised dire consequences once he returns to office.

The bombastic president believes that Prince Harry should face the consequences for possibly lying to immigration officials about his drug usage on his visa application.

Trump, who has been convicted of many crimes and other Republicans promised to deport the royal if the allegations are proven true. For a brief moment, Prince Harry and his wife seemed to have an exit route.

It was revealed that Prince Harry and Markle were quick to purchase a mansion in Portugal as part of their backup plan against Trump’s deportation threat.

However, this week, Page Six and Express confirmed that their exit strategy had gone up in smoke.

According to sources close to Prince Harry and Markle, the home in Portugal still needs to be completed.

Express revealed: “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have splurged $4.7 million on one of 300 residences at the 722-acre CostaTerra Golf and Ocean Club. However, the sprawling property is still not ready to be moved into and will only be used by the couple as a vacation home.”

An insider told the media outlet: “The villa in Portugal is more of an investment than anything else, and construction still needs to be completed. It has been purchased as a new home, but more as a holiday retreat and something they can put their money into to protect their assets.”

Meghan Markle, who is American, and Prince Harry, who is British, also have European nationality issues. Therefore, they can only live in Portugal for up to three months without a legal visa.

Express explained: “Before the pair can enjoy their new abode in Portugal, the Sussexes face one major hurdle to overcome — European Union citizenship.”

It is going to be four long years for the pair. They are prepared to risk it all by spending millions of dollars on lawyers to oppose Donald Trump’s deportation plan.

Another source added: “Harry and Meghan feel at home in California, and they won’t be leaving there without a fight. They have a very good legal team, and they have a lot of support behind them to ensure that they will be able to remain in the United States.”

Prince Harry and Markle should be aware that Trump, known for being vengeful and ruthless, will go for the jugular.
