Britney Spears thinks it is time for a major change in her life, and her numerous supporters were not ready for the bombshell that she dropped on social media.
On December 2, Spears took to Instagram to reveal that she had left the United States of America for Mexico. According to the pop superstar, the paparazzi had a lot to do with her decision.
The “Princess of Pop,” who turned 43 on the same day, said: “It really kind of hurts my feelings that the paparazzi make my face look like I’m wearing, like, a white Jason mask. It doesn’t even look like me.”
She continued her attacks on the photographers by saying: “They’ve always been incredibly cruel to me, the paparazzi and pictures and the way they’ve illustrated me to be in some of it.”
Spears said while she is “not perfect,” they have been “extremely mean and cruel.” She added, “That’s why I’ve moved to Mexico.”
The mother of two did a second video on the same day in which she stated, “I’m turning 5 this year. I’m turning 5 years old, and I have to go to kindergarten tomorrow.”
Some say that the statement was a joke and should not be taken literally. However, followers on social media are expressing concerns over Spears’s latest sudden moves.
However, a source told PEOPLE that the Mexico trip is just a vacation with friends. The person in the know said: “Britney treated herself to a fun vacation for her birthday. She loves Mexico and can’t wait to celebrate in the sun.”
The month is already very busy for the pop icon. In addition to her birthday, she was also declared legally single on December 2.
This is the beginning of a new chapter in her life as it has been revealed that her ex-husband, Sam Asghari, is reportedly dating a woman named Brooke Irvine.
Asghari still holds his ex in high regard and will never say anything bad about her after spending five years together. He told PEOPLE last year: “It was a blessing to be able to share life with someone for a long time. And people grow apart and people move on.
