Brad Pitt and his estranged wife, Angelina Jolie, have finally reached a legal agreement. It took a grueling eight years from the initial filing for Pitt and Jolie to finalize their divorce.

The former couple had been fighting in court and the public eye over disagreements related to their six children.

They were also bickering over their multimillion-dollar assets, including a vineyard and chateau in France.

However, the ugliest battle was over the truth and lies destroying their reputations as actors, businesspeople, and parents.

Exhausted by it all, Jolie decided to call it quits and signed the divorce papers. Angelina Jolie’s lawyer, James Simon, told PEOPLE Magazine: “More than eight years ago, Angelina filed for divorce from Mr. Pitt. She and the children left all of the properties they had shared with Mr. Pitt, and since that time, she has focused on finding peace and healing for their family.”

Simon went on to confirm the surprising reason for the settlement by saying: “This is just one part of a long ongoing process that started eight years ago. Frankly, Angelina is exhausted, but she is relieved this one part is over.”

Brad Pitt’s current girlfriend, Ines de Ramon, pushed him to close this draining chapter because she wants to move ahead, get married, and start a family.

A source told Page Six: “He was influenced by Ines to finally settle. Ines wants to have a life together — with possible children in the future — without the albatross that was the eight-year War of the Roses. She has made [it known that] her opinion is that life would be much more enjoyable with this settled.”

Amid this legal and damaging drama, a past interview with Brad Pitt’s ex-wife, Jennifer Aniston, has surfaced.

Remember that Pitt, who was married to Aniston then, cheated with Jolie after they started working on the blockbuster movie Mr. and Mrs. Smith.

Aniston rarely talks about this devastating chapter of her life; however, in an old interview with Vanity Fair that recently resurfaced, she revealed her only conversation with Jolie — the woman who would go on to destroy her marriage and steal her husband.

Anston said: “I said, “Brad is so excited about working with you. I hope you guys have a really good time!”

This seemingly harmless comment was made when Aniston was still married to Pitt, and its implications are felt especially this week.

The finalization of the divorce drew a lot of support for Aniston, who was applauded for being classy and having a dignified demeanor throughout the heartbreak.

Aniston was also told that she did well by not meddling and instead sitting and watching Pitt reap what he sowed. Others told the Friends star she was the true victor in this chaos.

Jolie and Pitt started dating in 2004 and have six children together: Maddox, 23; Pax, 21; Zahara, 19; Shiloh, 18; and twins Knox and Vivienne, 16.

All the children are estranged from their father and have dropped his last name.
