Jessica Simpson has taken great philosophers’ suggestions and used her pain and challenges to create works of art.
Simpson opened the year with a brutal blow: She and Eric Johnson, her husband of more than a decade, announced their divorce. The pair shares three children and a lifetime’s worth of memories together.
Despite the challenges she faced, Jessica Simpson’s resilience shone through. She underwent multiple transformations in her life, losing more than 100 pounds and overcoming alcohol addiction. These experiences led her to a profound realization — she was not the same person she once was.
The new woman she became fell out of love with the former NFL player. Eric Johnson has also transformed into a new man and is no longer in sync with his ex-wife.
All this is to say people change, and their relationships fade into something belonging to their past. Simpson has wasted no time exploring what this new woman offers the world.
The singer, who rose to fame with her pop music in the late 1990s and early 2000s, juggles motherhood and a multi-million dollar company.
Despite her busy schedule, she has carved out some time to return to her first love — music. Returning to her roots in Nashville, Jessica Simpson poured her soul, pain, loss, love, and other raw emotions into her new album. She hopes this emotional depth will resonate with her fans, offering a profound connection through her music.
A source close to Simpson spoke about the project, explaining that the new divorcée will be blunt and raw in her songs and confess some profoundly personal and heartbreaking details, implying that they can make Johnson uncomfortable.
The insider told the Daily Mail: “She is singing from the heart and there is a lot of pain there, she goes very deep. She has called it the “soundtrack to my soul.”‘ It is a bit like the Alanis Morissette Jagged Little Pill album. Very raw and full of wild emotion. She will shock the pants off her fans.”
The source went on to share more details about the project: “It’s ready, and it’s coming out with a bang very soon. She recorded the music when in Nashville, Tennessee, last year. That is where she got back to her country music ‘roots.”
The close friend also shared: “It will be about her broken heart, so, yeah, I guess you can call it a revenge, a heartbreak album. When Jessica writes music, she pours her heart into it and has no filter, it’s very personal. So the album will really be about the struggles she has been through at home. It is super emotional and shares her side of the story. She has been working on the album for years; there is a lot in there.”
In a snippet of one of her new songs, titled “Use My Heart Against Me,” Simpson hinted that her ex-husband’s past mistakes and shortcomings would be tried, as she had done to all former partners and flings in her memoir.
Is the world ready for the new Simpson?
