This week, Affleck threw the media into a tailspin after sources close to him revealed that he is more than open and willing to rekindle his love affair with his first ex-wife and the mother of his three children, Jennifer Garner.
An insider told Page Six: “He would be open to giving things another shot with Jen if the timing is ever right. At the same time, Ben knows it’s just not realistic at this time in their lives.”
Another source told PEOPLE that there is a real connection between the exes and added: “While Affleck usually enjoys his time with Garner, he seems extra giddy lately and much more affectionate.”
According to the insider, Garner seems comfortable with the situation and enjoys her time with Affleck. The source told the outlet that: “[Garner] doesn’t seem to mind. She seems to enjoy spending time with Ben.”
According to Page Six, Affleck and Garner have been closer than ever and spending more time together since their divorce from Lopez.
The person stated: “Particularly since Ben‘s divorce from Jennifer [Lopez] and with the LA fires and everything going on, They have found themselves leaning on each other more than ever.”
The report surfaced after the Daily Mail shared several photos of Affleck and Garner getting touchy and handsy during a game of paintball outing in Los Angeles.
The sight of Affleck and Garner getting cozy and flirting during a paintball game in Los Angeles was reportedly a breaking point for Lopez, causing her to experience a meltdown over the perceived betrayal.
A source tells Page Six: “Jennifer Lopez is not taking the situation well. Constantly seeing photos of her ex, Ben Affleck, and his ex, Jennifer Garner, has been like rubbing salt in her wounds. Lopez is reportedly furious, and the situation is taking a toll on her.”
In a move that some might call cocky, Ben Affleck responds to Lopez’s emotional distress by expressing his gratitude for their divorce, claiming that it has led him to true happiness.
The source said: “Ben is happier than he’s been in years after settling his divorce from Jennifer. He has been in a much better mood lately and is excited about this next chapter. Ben hasn’t been in regular contact with Jennifer since their divorce unless it revolves around their kids’ school functions. Ben has no hard feelings for Jennifer but would rather keep things at a distance.”
