King Charles III and Prince William have no patience for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s alleged theatrics.
This is having a major impact on reconciliation prospects. The Duke of Sussex keeps talking about wanting peace with the Royal Family. However, the trust deficit is hard to ignore.
After the media leaked that aides for the King and his youngest son discussed detente, finger-pointing started immediately.
Insiders say the meeting was productive. Still, some blame the Sussexes for the leak.
Prince William did not send a representative to the so-called peace summit. Some observers view this as a means to maintain a distance from the process.
Experts doubt a full reconciliation is likely, raising concerns about actual progress.
According to royal commentator Hugo Vickers, the Prince of Wales will never forgive his brother.
Vickers told the Sun: “So as for William. It’s much more difficult because the barbs were sent in his direction from Prince Harry, but very much directed towards Catherine. That is very insulting, and I think William is likely to be more of an unforgiving person than his father.”
He also advised: “If I were advising Prince Harry, I’d say, get on good terms with your father soon—that’s step one. Step two: try with your brother.”
He then pointed out: “We have to ask ourselves, did some random figure pass by and say, ‘oh, hello there’s Tobyn Andreae talking to the Sussex team – take a photograph and sell it to the newspapers’. That seems to me to be a bit far-fetched. I think it’s, first of all, very odd to have a meeting on a balcony if it’s meant to be private.”
He also shared: “And so, secondly, it looks to me as though somebody leaked it, and the obvious people to do that would be the Sussex team. Having done that, of course it’s also absolutely in keeping that they would then deny having done so. I don’t think it would be Buckingham Palace. I don’t see what possible gain they would have out of leaking it. I don’t think that they are particularly leakers where I’m afraid I think the Sussex team are.”
The Sussexes claim that they are not behind the leak. Uncertainty surrounds the talks, with speculation about Markle’s central influence.
For Charles Rae, a former royal correspondent for the Sun, she is “the fly in the ointment.” The journalist believes Markle will have the final say on her husband’s moves.
Prince William reportedly places primary blame on Markle for past royal disputes.
Interestingly, while British royals focus on her, Markle goes about her business. Reports suggest she is on the right path in this area.
