Taylor Swift will undoubtedly be writing many new songs about the people in her life, but do not expect her to still sing the praises of Blake Lively.
The ladies shared a friendship that spanned over a decade, with Swift holding the esteemed title of Godmother to Lively and Ryan Reynolds‘s three children.
Swift has been a constant presence in Lively’s life, celebrating her most significant milestones and offering a loving and supportive shoulder during her toughest times.
However, in late 2024, the ties that had held their friendship together began to unravel due to Lively’s court and public drama with her former co-star and filmmaker, Justin Baldoni.
Lively and the actor became entangled in a lengthy, almost billion-dollar lawsuit over sexual harassment and bullying.
This legal drama resulted in a breach of privacy for Taylor Swift, as many of her private conversations and text messages were made public.
There were even threats that the pop superstar would be subpoenaed and forced to testify in court. While the court case has dramatically wound down, with Lively reportedly limping out as the so-called victor, her public image has taken a serious hit, as has her relationship with Swift.
Blake Lively has reportedly been forced to make the only decision she can at this point: let it go and move on without Swift in her life.
Numerous reports, including those from PEOPLE Magazine and the Daily Mail, have surfaced, revealing that Swift has significantly distanced herself from Lively’s legal conundrum. Some insiders have also claimed that Swift is no longer communicating with Lively.
Taylor Swift’s boyfriend, NFL star Travis Kelce, appeared to confirm the longtime pals’ separation when he unfollowed Ryan Reynolds on social media.
Lively, in an apparent attempt to salvage what dignity she has left, has reportedly decided it is her turn to walk away.
Via Yahoo, it has been revealed that the actress is no longer doing the heavy lifting to smooth over Swift’s fractured relationship.
One source claimed: “After months of radio silence, Blake has stopped trying to reach out. She’s heartbroken, but she knows it’s time to let go. Taylor’s not coming back.”
While Lively is said to be “devastated” by the great divide between her and the artist, she finally accepts the situation’s finality.
The insider claimed: “She’s done chasing someone who clearly doesn’t want to be caught. There is no recovery from this. Their friendship is done. What Blake has done was exploit the Godmother of her children and manipulate the public into thinking that she was watching out for her best interests.”
The source added: “(Lively) has no one to blame but herself. Taylor is a girl’s girl, and she loves her friends. She will bend over backward for them, but when that trust is broken, there is no going back.”
