Britney Spears has spilled some tea in recent years. The pop princess began her journey as a whistleblower about her family and the entertainment industry on social media, specifically Instagram.
Spears was once the most busy celebrity on the social media platform, where she constantly and profusely attacked her father, Jamie, for imprisoning her, making her life miserable, sending her to therapy, making her work too hard, and for placing the conservatorship on her for 14 years.
Eventually, Britney Spears took a step up with the secret sharing; she signed a $20 million deal with a major publisher and wrote the best-selling memoir, The Woman in Me.
The memoir had it all: confessions about her childhood, revelations about her parents and sisters, and bombshells about her exes, including Justin Timberlake and Kevin Federline.
After taking many jabs at people from her past, the shoe is now on the other foot with her ex-husband, Kevin Federline, as he decides to release a book to capitalize on the fact that the child support payments for his and Spears’s two sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James Federline, have come to an end.
Kevin Federline’s controversial memoir, You Thought You Knew, contains multiple explosive claims about Britney Spears, particularly concerning her behavior as a mother and her perceived failures in raising their sons.
Concern for Her Safety and Mental State
The former backup dancer, who has since become a full-time stay-at-home dad, claimed in his literary piece that he had serious concerns about Spears’s well-being and stability. He also stated that he was worried that things would have a terrible ending if she did not get the proper help she needed.
Federline wrote: “The truth is, this situation with Britney feels like it’s racing toward something irreversible. It’s become impossible to pretend everything’s OK. From where I sit, the clock is ticking, and we’re getting close to the 11th hour. Something bad is going to happen if things don’t change, and my biggest fear is that our sons will be left holding the pieces.”
Federline also demanded that Spears’s fans and the public shift focus now that she has regained control of her affairs.
He stated: “All those people who put so much effort into that [the ‘Free Britney’ movement] should now put the same energy into the ‘Save Britney’ movement. Because this is no longer about freedom. It’s about survival.”
Knife Incident and Children’s Fear
One of the most disturbing claims Federline made in his bombshell book concerns a story that his sons Sean Preston and Jayden James Federline shared with him.
Federline wrote that his boys told him that they often woke up at night to see their mother standing silently, eerily, with a knife in her hand, looking at them.
The knife incidents made them fearful of visiting her as they got older. Federline wrote: “They would awaken sometimes at night to find her standing silently in the doorway, watching them sleep—’Oh, you’re awake?’—with a knife in her hand. Then she’d turn around and pad off without explanation.”
Kevin Federline: Cocaine Use And Breastfeeding
Kevin Federline wrote about an incident at a party in 2006, where he saw his wife using cocaine — he revealed he was doubly petrified by his then-wife’s drug usage because she was breastfeeding their baby boy.
He wrote: “I found Britney and a young starlet friend snorting a fat line of coke off the table. I was devastated. I told her, ‘You are not going to go home and nurse those babies.’ She threw a drink in my face. That was the proverbial final straw, the breastfeeding thing. Her reaction. That’s what ended us.”
Federline’s memoir also contains a stunning allegation regarding Spears’s alcohol consumption during her pregnancy: “She was drinking. She was taking some kind of medication. I saw all of it. And she was pregnant. It broke my heart.”
Kevin Federline: Drunk Call Was The Final Straw
Federline claims he decided to end his marriage after receiving a late-night phone call while on a business trip. Spears, who was partying excessively with Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan, called him to join the fun; however, he could hear his sons crying in the background. That final incident pushed him to divorce Spears and fight to have custody of their young sons.
He wrote: “I was in Miami for work, trying to stay focused on my commitments, and I got a call. It was her, Paris Hilton, and Lindsay Lohan on the line, drunk as hell, begging me to come over. I could hear Preston and Jayden crying in the background. It had to be three or four in the morning. That call was the final straw.”
He continued by reflecting on his decision: “I’d already seen the photos in the tabloids, the ones of her out with them all night, partying at Paris’s Malibu place. But hearing my kids crying while she was doing God-knows-what? That was it. Any deep-seated sliver of hope that I’d held onto, that we might still somehow pull it together for the kids, died right then.”
On social media and through her attorney, Spears has strongly denied these allegations.
Spears accused Federline of spreading “white lies,” gaslighting her, and trying to profit from her after his child support ended.
The bombshells have caused Spears to delete her official Instagram page.
Sean Preston has made the brave decision to remain silent as this new chapter of public family drama unfolds. As for Jayden James, who has reconnected with his mother, he feels a great deal of pain that the dirty laundry is being aired and would prefer for everyone to move on with their lives.
