Prince William reportedly believes that King Charles III is gradually but surely blowing the biggest accomplishment of his short reign. Although this has not been stated in so many words.
It was not that long ago that the heir to the throne praised the King for the impressive and swift manner in which he handled the disaster involving the former Prince Andrew.
William had fiercely intervened, convincing his father that time was of the essence for the monarchy to wipe the slate clean, given the ongoing damage caused by Andrew’s ties to Jeffrey Epstein.
With the release of sensitive files and the leak of horrific photos, the situation demanded concrete action. The Monarch acted accordingly, cutting off his disgraced brother once and for all. As of October 2025, Andrew had lost his titles, was set to be evicted from Royal Lodge, and faced the end of all privileges provided by the century-old institution.
The King’s Change Of Heart
However, in the wake of this banishment, King Charles is reportedly having second thoughts. According to an insider who spoke to the Daily Mail, the King regrets causing his brother such intense pain and humiliation.
According to the bombshell leak to the media, driven by the spirit of the holiday season and his own faith, Charles has begun calling Andrew daily to monitor his mental health and ensure he is “holding on tight.”
Backtracking On Formal Sanctions
According to columnist Ephraim Hardcastle, the King is “gently backtracking” on many of the tough decisions he previously made. The former prince had been suffering through “behind-the-scenes degradations,” including the removal of staff funded by the King and the termination of food deliveries from the Windsor Castle kitchens.
Andrew’s final plea to the King — arguing that reducing him to the rank of a commoner would “effectively be pronouncing him guilty” — reportedly persuaded Charles to desist.
As a result, the King has reinstated Andrew’s access to royal staff and stables, though a late invitation to the Sandringham Christmas festivities has yet to materialize.
Pressure From The Inner Circle
It is believed that the King is folding to his brother’s demands not only because of his faith but also under pressure from other family members.
Certain royals have reportedly believed from day one that the King was too harsh. This softening of the Monarch’s stance has left Prince William speechless and deeply disappointed.
A Weak Image Of The Monarchy
Prince William believed this matter was handled and settled. Sources suggest the Prince of Wales is frustrated that the “slate” he fought so hard to wipe clean is being muddied once again.
More importantly, William believes that by wavering, His Majesty is projecting a weak image of the monarchy to the public, undermining the very stability the institution requires to survive.
