Shia LaBeouf’s Shocking Rome Trip Revealed After ‘Terrorizing’ Mardi Gras Claims

Shia LaBeouf Rome Trip After Arrest

Shia LaBeouf found himself at the center of a violent disturbance in the heart of New Orleans, Louisiana, during the celebration of Mardi Gras.

The 39-year-old actor, whose career has been defined as much by his immense talent as by his turbulent and complex personal life, was arrested in the early hours following an alleged physical altercation that witnesses described as “terrorizing” the city.

In the aftermath of the incident, LaBeouf took to his Twitter/X account at 5:30 am ET to issue a stark and aloof two-word statement that has since gone viral. The actor boldly declared: “Free me.”

The Night of the Altercation

According to reports from the New Orleans Police Department and several viral, bizarre TikTok videos of the incident, officers were called to a business in the 1400 block of Royal Street around 12:45 am.

The scene was described as high-tension and extremely chaotic, with a shirtless LaBeouf allegedly becoming “increasingly aggressive” after being asked to leave the premises. According to the police, the incident escalated after an employee attempted to eject the Transformers star.

A cop shared: “Mr. LaBeouf reportedly used his closed fists on the victim several times before leaving. He then returned, acting even more aggressively.”

In one video, LaBeouf, with his impressive back tattoos on full display, is seen engaged in a heated exchange with the individual.

Bystanders rush and try to restrain him. They also attempt to calm him down and ask him to leave the area. However, the police report alleges that once he was let up, he “reportedly again struck the same victim with closed fists to the victim’s upper body” before punching a second individual in the nose.

“Terrorizing the City”

The arrest follows days of erratic behavior reported by locals and tourists alike. One bartender told The Hollywood Reporter that the actor had been “terrorizing the city” during the multi-day festival, frequently appearing shirtless and belligerent in various French Quarter establishments.

Despite the allegations of violence, some fan encounters this week were reportedly peaceful, adding to the confusion about LaBeouf’s current state of mind. Following the brawl, the actor was taken to a local hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries before being booked into the Orleans Justice Center on two counts of simple battery.

A Plea for Freedom

LaBeouf was eventually released on his own recognizance in the afternoon. Shortly after his release, he was reportedly seen dancing on Bourbon Street with his release papers in his mouth — a defiant image that preceded his cryptic “Free me” post.

While the “Free me” tweet could be interpreted as a literal plea for legal leniency, many fans have voiced concern that it may be a cry for help. One social media user responded: “No one’s coming to save you, man… The only one who can free you is the better version of yourself that’s inside of you.”

LaBeouf’s latest development serves as a sobering reminder of the actor’s ongoing struggle with public life. He is scheduled to appear back in a New Orleans court on March 19 to face the battery charges.

The actor is currently in Rome for his father, Jeffrey‘s baptism. He was cleared for traveling.
