Prince Harry and Meghan Markle cannot help but see the irony in the current royal spectacle, and they are reportedly laughing at the absolute joke of King Charles III’s latest official statement.
The audacity of the situation is clear, as it has been confirmed that King Charles and Queen Camilla are coming to town –specifically, the nation’s capital, Washington D.C., in late April 2026.
This historic state visit is set to feature a fancy banquet hosted by President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump, including a speech and more.
President Trump has decided he cannot be outdone by British pageantry and tradition, and will put on a major display of military force.
This may prove a challenge, as the US remains involved in global conflicts, and, bizarrely enough, some pilots literally have to fly around just to “salute” the patriotism of Donald Trump and Pete Hegseth‘s ally, Kid Rock.
The Palace’s “No Time” Narrative: A Laughable Excuse
Following the confirmation from Buckingham Palace, King Charles took it upon himself to clear up one big rumor: whether he would make time to see Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, or more importantly, his grandchildren, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
Via PEOPLE, His Majesty explained that a family reunion is simply “not on the agenda.” The Palace insists it is not the time or the place, claiming Prince Harry “knows better” and did not even ask for a meeting.
PEOPLE explained that because every minute of a state visit is tightly choreographed, any suggestion of carving out private time is proving unrealistic.
The Palace confirmed: “When you’re talking about a state visit, every minute is accounted for — especially when it’s the King traveling as the invited guest of a head of state.”
A source added: “Harry would not be expected to press for a meeting under those circumstances, noting that there is an understanding on both sides. Harry knows how things are and wouldn’t ask for that either under these circumstances.”
The Democratic Feminist vs. The MAGA Display
There is a staggering level of audacity in this statement for the Sussexes. For one, the couple may be busy handling their own business and philanthropy thousands of miles away in Australia while the King is in the US.
Furthermore, there is no way Meghan Markle would meet with Donald Trump even if she were invited. Markle is a true Democrat and feminist who made her feelings about Trump known on “Day Zero.”
She has slammed him many times and famously refused to meet him during his first state visit to London. Meghan Markle has remained a steadfast ally to former President Joe Biden and his wife, Jill Biden, positioning herself as a fearless champion for women’s rights, cyberbullying prevention, anti-racism, and social justice—values that stand in blistering opposition to the very causes Donald Trump openly despises.
A Deeply Rooted Rivalry: Hell Will Freeze Over
The rivalry is deep-rooted; Meghan previously called Trump “misogynistic” and “divisive,” while Trump once remarked of the Duchess, “I’m not a fan of hers.”
While King Charles is busy saving face with his formal statements and leaks, Markle and the Duke find the entire spectacle baffling. Hell would have to freeze over before Meghan Markle would ever don a couture gown to sit through a hollow, non-political dinner with Donald and Melania Trump, pretending to offer a diplomatic smile while making lighthearted conversation.
With one royal expert noting that “Meghan has no interest in a photo-op that contradicts everything she stands for.” While the King polishes his medals for the D.C. elite, the Sussexes remain focused on their own global impact, far from the reach of the Trump administration’s “pagan” military displays.
King Charles’s Statement Fails: The Attempt To Shield Harry and Meghan From Embarrassment Falls Flat
Others viewed the proactive statement as an attempt by King Charles to “shield” Prince Harry and Meghan Markle from the embarrassment of being publicly excluded from the D.C. festivities and to stop the lingering question around the visit.
The Palace’s carefully worded “no time” excuse is being called a total bust. Instead of saving face for the Sussexes, the narrative that a reigning Monarch is “too busy” to see his own grandchildren while on their home turf has only highlighted the deep-seated friction.
