Prince William is hitting back after King Charles III made a grand gesture towards Prince Harry.
His Majesty officially offered his son a dedicated residence inside Buckingham Palace. Following Prince Harry’s eviction from Frogmore Cottage, the Monarch’s gesture was intended to give the Duke of Sussex a secure, permanent sanctuary during his visits to the UK.
According to royal insiders, the King‘s decision to open the doors of his main residence in London was a necessary demonstration of goodwill and unity.
A member of the Royal Family explained: “The fact he’s being afforded a room at Buckingham Palace is a huge gesture.”
The offer signaled a breakthrough for Prince Harry, who is eager to reconnect with his family. By offering an official base at the heart of the monarchy, King Charles hoped to extend a lasting olive branch to his son and family and, therefore, see more of his grandchildren, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

However, any hopes of Prince Harry and his family settling back into Palace life are dealt a major blow by the heir to the throne.
Following King Charles’s decision not to live in the 755-room palace after its £369 million ($400 million) refurbishment finishes, Prince William is planning a complete overhaul of how the landmark operates.
Rather than reserving the residence for family accommodation, the Prince of Wales is moving to turn parts of the iconic building into a commercial venture.
Royal insider Rob Shuter reported that Prince William envisions a future where the landmark opens its doors far wider to the public to maximize revenue, stating: “William doesn’t see this as an either-or. The palace can host kings, presidents, and diplomats—and welcome paying guests and museum visitors at the same time.”
The Prince of Wales strongly believes the monarchy must make active use of the billion-dollar castle rather than keeping massive residential suites empty year-round.
The insider explained via Yahoo: “People would travel from every corner of the world for that experience. It would generate millions while preserving the palace for future generations.”
Tensions Remain As The Heir Steps Away
Prince William’s effort to put Buckingham Palace on a commercial basis is in direct conflict with Prince Harry’s intention to use the property as a private sanctuary for his family.
Moreover, the Prince of Wales has no plan to share the premises or to arrange any kind of reunion with his estranged brother during his travels. Regarding the possibility of the two brothers meeting at the site, a royal source stated: “Assuming Harry does decide to stay at the Palace – and there’s no reason why he won’t – the overwhelming likelihood is that William will find a reason to be far away.”
With Prince William looking to transform Buckingham Palace into a revenue-generating attraction for paying tourists and museum visitors, Prince Harry’s newly offered palace base remains fraught with friction, leaving the royal brothers as distant as ever.
