Meghan Markle may be preparing to prove that reports of her decline were dramatically premature.
For months, rumors have swirled about business setbacks, money troubles and possible tension in Meghan and Prince Harry’s marriage. But the real situation seems more complex and could actually be much more hopeful.
Meghan is growing her business, forming new partnerships, and still working with Netflix. More importantly, she recently went back to Britain with Harry and their children for a private meeting with King Charles III and Queen Camilla.
That royal meeting did not give the Sussexes their official roles back or fix years of tension. Still, it gave Meghan something money and fame could not: renewed access to the Royal Family.
If Harry continues to rebuild his relationship with his father, Meghan could soon be in her strongest position since leaving royal life.
Meghan Markle Is Quietly Building Her Business Empire
Meghan no longer seems focused on just one TV show, podcast, or big media deal for her future.
Instead, she is building several related businesses that turn her worldwide fame into products, investments, and entertainment projects.
Her As Ever lifestyle company is still at the heart of her plans. The brand keeps launching new products and benefits from its link to Netflix, which now includes As Ever in its partnership with Meghan and Harry’s Archewell Productions.
In August 2025, Netflix confirmed that Archewell Productions would remain part of its lineup through a multiyear first-look deal for new film and television projects. The company also pointed to the performance of With Love, Meghan, which entered Netflix’s global top 10 and recorded 5.3 million views during the first six months of the year. Netflix executive Bela Bajaria added that products released through Meghan’s As Ever brand were selling out “in record time.”
This does not look like a company that is quietly leaving Meghan behind.
Her ambitions have also moved beyond jam, tea, candles, and lifestyle programming. In April 2026, Meghan became an investor in OneOff, an artificial intelligence-powered fashion platform that allows followers to identify and purchase clothing inspired by her public appearances.
The investment allowed Meghan to broaden her business interests while giving greater exposure to designers she already supports. Her influence was quickly apparent: the OneOff page reportedly attracted over one million views within three days, and several of the highlighted pieces sold out.
Meghan is basically turning all the attention on her clothes, travel, and public image into a way to grow her business.
Bethan Holt, fashion director at The Telegraph, explained the difference between Meghan and working members of the monarchy: “The royals are influencers, but the mystique is that they are not promoting themselves as such.” She added, “Meghan is lifting the veil.”
That approach will definitely draw criticism. Meghan is no longer just influencing what people buy. She is now trying to earn money directly from her influence. But that might be exactly what she wants.
For years, Meghan was told she was taking advantage of her royal ties and was also criticized when her projects did not become instant hits. Now, it seems she has accepted that criticism will always be there and has chosen to build her business anyway.
King Charles and Queen Camilla Handed the Sussexes a Major Victory
The most important change may have happened far from Meghan’s business in California.
On July 10, King Charles and Queen Camilla met Harry, Meghan, Prince Archie, and Princess Lilibet at Highgrove House. Buckingham Palace described it as a private family occasion and released no photographs, video, or other details.
It was the King’s first in-person meeting with Archie and Lilibet since 2022.
Critics will say that one private meeting does not change anything. Harry and Meghan are still not part of the working Royal Family. Prince William was not there, and the brothers still do not seem close to making up.
Still, the meeting at Highgrove was a clear win for the Sussexes’ reputation.
Meghan returned to Britain and was received at the King’s private residence. Queen Camilla stood next to Charles during the encounter. The Sussex children were brought back into direct contact with their grandfather after years of distance.
For someone often called permanently cut off from royal life, just entering Highgrove meant a lot symbolically.
British royal commentator Ian Pelham Turner called the meeting a major step, declaring, “This reunion allowed a thawing of the ice.” He argued that reopening communication was important, even if other family members remained opposed.
The meeting did not make Meghan a working royal again. But it did something possibly more important: it challenged the idea that the Palace had shut her out for good.
Meghan and Harry’s Collapse Narrative Is Starting to Look Overheated
This royal breakthrough also complicates the ongoing rumors about the Sussexes’ money and marriage.
There are legitimate questions about their commercial future. Their original Netflix arrangement was replaced by a more limited first-look partnership, meaning Archewell’s projects must now compete for approval rather than being automatically produced.
Their lifestyle is also expensive. Private security, staff, legal disputes, travel, and maintaining a large California estate call for substantial and dependable income.
But having financial pressure is not the same as being broke. Netflix is still working with Archewell. Meghan is still releasing As Ever products. She has added an outside technology investment to her portfolio, while Harry and Meghan continue developing documentaries and other entertainment projects.
People close to the couple have described Meghan as intensely focused on turning As Ever into a lasting company, saying she regularly develops new ideas for the brand.
The divorce rumors also do not match how the couple has been acting lately. Harry and Meghan traveled to Britain together with both children, attended the key meeting with Charles and Camilla as a family, and continue to participate in joint Archewell productions.
A staff member familiar with the couple described them as “the biggest champions of each other,” adding that adversity tends to bring them closer together.
That comment came from someone close to the Sussexes, so it should be seen as their view, not as solid proof. No one can know the true state of a marriage just by looking at public appearances.
Still, there is no confirmed public evidence that Harry and Meghan are planning to divorce. Any talk of a split is just speculation, not fact.
Their more separate work lives might even be on purpose. Harry can focus on the Invictus Games, veterans, and charity, while Meghan works on products, fashion, and entertainment.
They do not have to appear together at every event to stay married or work well as a team.
Prince Harry’s Royal Reconciliation May Transform Meghan’s Future
If Harry fixes his relationship with Charles, Meghan could see big indirect benefits.
The King does not need to endorse As Ever, appear in a Netflix program, or publicly praise his daughter-in-law. The Palace would almost certainly avoid anything that appeared to connect the Crown directly to a commercial Sussex venture.
But having a steady private relationship would still change how people see Meghan’s business. For years, almost every project Meghan has worked on has been seen through the lens of her royal feud.
If she starts a cooking show, people say she is using her title. If a podcast fails, it is seen as proof that leaving the royals hurt her career. If a product does well, critics say she is cashing in on her royal ties.
A real truce could slowly change that story. Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams has suggested that “a path is being cleared by the king for reconciliation,” although he warned that Charles moving forward without William’s support could become dangerous for the monarchy.
That warning highlights the biggest problem left. Charles may be willing to reconnect with Harry, Meghan, and their children, but William appears far less interested. Royal commentators continue to describe the brothers as deeply estranged, with trust remaining a central problem.
So Meghan cannot assume that meeting with Charles means she is fully back in the royal fold. Yet she may not need one.
If the King privately accepts Meghan, she can remain independent, and people may stop seeing the Sussexes as always fighting with the royals. This could help her seem less divisive to investors, distributors, and business partners.
It would also boost her biggest advantage: Meghan is in a unique spot between royalty, Hollywood, fashion, charity, and lifestyle marketing.
Meghan Markle May Be Preparing Her Biggest Reinvention
Meghan still has a lot to show. As Ever needs to show it can grow beyond just a few product launches and one-time buyers. Her TV projects need to last, and her investments need to do more than just make news.
She will also have to balance keeping her royal identity without seeming to take advantage of it. But saying Meghan is done in business no longer matches the facts.
She has an active Netflix partnership, a growing lifestyle company, a new fashion technology investment, and direct access to millions of people interested in what she wears, says, and sells. Now she also has a reopened connection to King Charles.
The Highgrove meeting was not a return to royal duties, but it may have cleared away one of the biggest doubts about the Sussex brand. If Harry keeps the peace with his father and Meghan turns attention into a lasting business, she could come out of years of controversy stronger than her critics thought.
Meghan Markle’s empire has not arrived yet. But for the first time in years, everything might finally be coming together.
