Jessica Jaymes, born Jessica Redding, known for her work in hundreds of adult films over the years, has reportedly been found dead in her North Hills home near Los Angeles, California, at the age of 43, although some media outlets say she was 40.
She was discovered by her business partner who was checking up on her, and according to his statements, it looked like the legendary adult entertainer had been dead for at least half a day.
He added that it could have been longer than that since Jaymes had been missing for at least several days. Police eventually arrived at the scene and checked to verify that the place had not been robbed.
They were also looking into the possibility that Jaymes may have been murdered but were treating the death as more likely to have been of natural causes.
People close to the actress have pointed out that she was suffering from several health issues in her life, and was having frequent seizures for several months.
And while she was reportedly taking medication for her seizures, it is not known if this was the cause of her death.
Reports indicate that her body was found close to her seizure medications, fueling the speculation that it was indeed a seizure that took her life in the end.
The business partner, who found her, told AVN: “I was like, ‘When is going to be her time?’ Because I knew it was coming. She was so unhealthy, so many problems, health issues with her back, her nerve system, the seizures in the past six months. I was just waiting. It was a question of time. She was so young.”
Jaymes has enjoyed a large following online through her prolific career, and many of her fans have stepped forward to share their condolences.
Some have also reminded their fellow fans to be more civil in these discussions due to the sensitive nature of her work.
Her last message on Instagram read: “Hey guys took a little vacation for a couple of days I love you all❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ apologies and I hope everyone is having the best sex time of their life! ?.”
Originally from Alaska, she was a former fourth-sixth grade teacher before she launched her career in the adult film industry in 2002. Her career took off rapidly and she became Hustler’s first contract model and was named Hustler‘s “Honey of the Year” in 2005.
She was inducted in the AVN Hall of Fame last year. She had appeared on Weeds and reality TV shows like VH1’s Celebrity Rehab Sober House and HBO’s Vivid Valley.
