Lira Galore, also known as Lira Mercer, the 26-year-old Instagram sensation, who was rumored to be dating boxer Devin Haney, 21, has taken to social media to deny the reports that surfaced online this week.
However, after putting out a strong statement on Instagram about the whole thing, she quickly deleted the message, but her followers had enough time to capture her sentiment.
The confusion started after TMZ reported that Haney and Galore were dating. The site claimed at the time that they took a romantic trip to Cabo San Lucas in Mexico, and the boxing superstar supposedly rented a mansion to spend time with his so-called lady love.
The media outlet based its reporting on sources who claimed that things were really getting hot between the pair, but the relationship was still relatively new. Haney was previously linked to Blac Chyna.
As for Galore, she dated Rick Ross and Pierre “Pee” Thomas, the co-founder of Quality Control Music label, in the past.
Galore wrote Saturday: “Thank you all for gathering in the congregation y’all know I don’t usually address too much of anything bc I could care less what a mf got to say bc number 1 I’M GROWN. But to clear things up Yes I recently took a trip with w some friends… He & I are just friends.”
Despite the denial, her followers still seem to think that those two are more than just friends. Some critics say the rumors could be part of a publicity stunt.
One person, who doubts Galore’s claims, wrote: “Lmaooo I remember when we found out she was pregnant, she said, “people can get ultrasounds for other things.”
A second commenter added: “How she gone lick somebody’s face, then get mad when people speculate? ? Girl, bye.” A third follower chimed in: “I didn’t know friends be touching on each other like that, but let me mind my business ??.”
“If they just friends why he tightly gripped on her like that ? they involved she just mad it got leaked period lol that’s what happens when u a public figure tho,” read a third comment.
A fourth follower added: “So… ya’ll really be licking and touching on people you’re “just friends” without here with COVID and all huh? .. okayyyy.”
Some observers believe that Haney might have pushed Galore to write the message so he can protect his privacy. Moreover, the deletion of the post suggests that there is more to the story.
Interestingly, Rob Kardashian‘s rumored girlfriend, Aileen Gisselle, was caught on video kissing the boxer less than two weeks ago.
