Ben Affleck has been spotted hanging out with Jennifer Lopez‘s mother, Guadalupe Rodriguez, in the latest development of the couple’s rekindled romance.
The 48-year-old actor was seen near the slot machines at Wynn Las Vegas with Guadalupe Rodriguez, 75, the mother of Jennifer Lopez.
He is reportedly in Vegas filming his latest project, and Guadalupe traveled out to see him. According to a source, she “loves” Ben and is pleased to see him back in her daughter’s life.
J.Lo has been splitting her time between Miami and Los Angeles to spend more time with the Argo actor.
While hanging out at the Wynn Las Vegas resort, Guadalupe was seen chatting with the film crew and members of the security team. Ben Affleck had been seen playing at the casino tables at 3 a.m.
A source said that Guadalupe and Ben used to hang out together in the past, and both enjoy gambling.
The insider told E! News: “Guadalupe loves Ben and is happy that he is back in Jennifer’s life. They enjoy gambling together and have done it in the past. Ben had the opportunity to work in Vegas this week and she came out.”
The revelation is a bit baffling for some because it has been claimed that Ben had a gambling issue, and the Hard Rock Casino banned him from playing for a long time.
Another insider told PEOPLE the following about the actor and his potential mother-in-law: “In the past, Jennifer’s mom and Ben were very close. Guadalupe loved Ben. She was sad when they couldn’t work things out years ago. She is thrilled that they are back together now.”
The person familiar with the situation added: “Jennifer is very close with her mom. It’s very important to her that the person she is with gets along with her mom. Jennifer loves that Ben and Guadalupe hung out in Las Vegas. They both love gambling and had fun together at the Wynn hotel.”
This week, the actor was seen driving away from the rental home of Jennifer Lopez in Miami. He was also spotted near his residence in Los Angeles.
After reuniting 17 years after splitting up, “Bennifer” appear to be making plans to start a future together, with a source reporting that J.Lo is “excited about a fresh start and pursuing things with Ben.”
The couple met on the set of Gigli more than 20 years ago and almost tied the knot in 2003 before canceling their wedding and ultimately breaking up just four months later.
However, in recent months, Jennifer has split from Alex Rodriguez, and Ben and his former girlfriend, Ana de Armas, ended things.
Now, J.Lo is looking for schools in Los Angeles for her twins — Max and Emme, 13, and plans to travel between Los Angeles and the Hamptons over the summer, but with LA as her “base,” according to a source.
