Jennifer Lopez has confirmed to the world that she is happily engaged to be married to the love of her life — Ben Affleck.
The power couple starred in the exact same movie about 18 years ago, and it did not have a happy ending.
They have a long list of people rooting for their success this time around, including Ben Affleck’s ex-wife, Jennifer Garner.
Garner and the actor were married from 2005 to 2018 and share three children, Violet, Seraphina, and Samuel.
A source close to Garner spoke to E! News and revealed that Ben Affleck spoke to his former spouse and their kids about the big move before asking Jennifer Lopez for her hand in marriage.
The insider revealed that Garner is happy for the father of her children for this heartfelt reason — Lopez has been a great influence on him.
The family friend explained to the media outlet: “Ben told Jen and the kids, so they knew about it. Not only is Jen is happy for Ben. She also knows that J.Lo has been a positive influence in certain ways.”
Another source stated that the former couple had split for a long time, and therefore, Garner has moved on with her feelings for Affleck and only wants what is best for him.
The pal shared: “Jennifer and Ben have been broken up for a very long time, and there is no reason whatsoever that she would be upset about this. She is happy if he is sober and he is doing well—both of which he is, and both of which are of utmost importance to J.Lo.”
The person added: “Both J.Lo and Jennifer have respect for each other as mothers and as individuals. They know that they are going to be a part of each other’s families for life through this marriage.”
Taking to her official website, Jennifer Lopez detailed how the wedding proposal took place.
She said that she was naked in the bathtub when Affleck got down on one knee.
She revealed: “Did you ever imagine your biggest dream could come true? Saturday night, while at my favorite place on earth (in the bubble bath), my beautiful love got on one knee and proposed. I was taken totally off guard and just looked in his eyes, smiling and crying at the same time, trying hard to get my head around the fact that after 20 years, this was happening all over again, I was quite literally speechless, and he said, ‘is that a yes?’ I said YES, of course, that’s a YES.”
