Fans hoping that Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt will get back together one day will be hugely disappointed by this latest confirmation.
A reliable source close to the actors has spoken to ET and has revealed that while Pitt and Aniston are single — they have no plans to rekindle their romance.
Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt have ruled the headlines for decades because of their high-profile Hollywood romance and divorce. Pitt and Aniston called it quits in 2005 after five years of marriage.
While the world was captivated by their marriage — the split and Pitt’s relationship with Angelina Jolie spilled even more ink.
After Jolie and Pitt separated, the impossible happened — Aniston and Pitt reconnected as friends and were not afraid to show affection for each other publicly.
Pitt was the center of attention when he attended Aniston’s star-studded 50th birthday. The pair later added more fuel to the rumors that they might get back together again by flirting during a big awards show.
The famous exes reunited for a Fast Times at Ridgemont High table read, where they confirmed to the world that they are more than friendly with each other.
However, this week, an insider explained where Aniston and Pitt stand by saying: “Brad and Jen are still friends. They talk and have a nice, friendly, cordial relationship…they aren’t getting back together, but they have a lot of respect for each other.”
Pitt married Jolie in 2014 after being together for over a decade. Jolie and Pitt share six children. The former couple divorced in 2019 and has a nasty court battle going on over custody issues and assets.
As for Aniston, she wed Justin Theroux in 2015. They split two years later, but the duo is close friends who often show support for each other publicly.
In a recent interview, Aniston opened up about her friendship with Pitt and confessed that she was delighted to take part in the table read with him.
She explained: “It was absolutely fun. Brad and I are buddies, and we’re friends. We speak, and there’s no oddness at all, except for everyone that probably watched it and was wanting there to be, or assumed there to be. We had fun, and it was for a great cause, CORE.”
While Aniston is not interested in having romantic ties to Pitt, she is dating and is not saying a definitive no when it comes to marriage.
She spoke to PEOPLE about her love life and made these revelations: “I’m interested in finding a fantastic partner and just living an enjoyable life and having fun with one another. That’s all we should hope for. It doesn’t have to be etched in stone in legal documents.”
She continued: “I’m going to just stick to the normal ways of dating. Having someone ask you out. That’s the way I would prefer it. Self-awareness is key. I’ve really gotten a lot out of therapy. Just being a public person, there’s a lot of amazing things that come with that. But there’s also a lot of tough stuff because we’re only human, and we tend to walk around with bulls-eyes on our heads.”
Aniston then opened up about the harassment of not having children.
She shared: “Sometimes you can’t help family members or people sending stuff over going, ‘What is this? You’re having a baby? Are you getting married?’ It’s like, ‘Oh, good gosh, when and how many years will it take for you to ignore that silliness?'”
Supporters of the powerful exes might have to move on.
