It is believed that when Meghan Markle moved to London as Prince Harry‘s new wife, some efforts were made, at least at the beginning, to help her navigate the complexity of royal life.
A surprising report revealed that Queen Elizabeth II, who was already at an advanced age, made efforts to regularly visit Prince Harry and Markle to help them adjust.
Her Majesty apparently knew early on that Markle and the prince were miserable in the roles of working royals. She, therefore, stepped in to help them.
It seems that Her Majesty enlisted the help of her daughter, Princess Anne, to share her experience with Markle.
Anne, Princess Royal, scheduled a meeting with the former American actress to reveal the truth about being a member of the British royal family.
According to royal expert Neil Sean, things did not go as planned because Markle did not bother with the pointers and revelations made by Prince Harry’s aunt.
Princess Anne, known as the hardest-working royal, always knew that Meghan Markle would not last long in the Royal Family, according to a royal expert.
The royal commentator said that the Princess Royal was baffled during the sit-down with Meghan Markle, and she understood right then that she would not be part of the working members of the Monarchy for long.
After the Duchess of Sussex joined the Monarchy, according to a royal source, she “left the meeting dumbfounded” after Princess Anne recommended seeing royal life “as a job” rather than an opportunity to seek fame.
Sean said that Princess Anne is tough like her father and devoted to service like her mother.
He revealed: “This senior royal takes no nonsense, much like her father, the late Duke of Edinburgh. Apparently, when Meghan Markle joined the Royal Family, she sought out Princess Anne. According to a very good source, Princess Anne gave very sage advice to the new royal. As we know, Princess Anne is the hardest working royal.”
The Princess Royal did not hold back and told Markle that being part of the family is having a real job that involves long engagements, traveling, and doing a lot of research.
Princess Anne also explained to Markle that she would represent the Queen and would not be basking in the limelight.
The royal expert continued: “She does endless amounts of engagements. She turns up, does the job, does not seek the limelight, and represents the Queen. I thought the recent visit together with the Queen to the Thames Hospice was wonderful.”
The Queen’s daughter left the meeting astonished by Markle. The expert claimed: “But apparently Meghan left her meeting with Princess Anne dumbfounded. Princess Anne reiterated this mantra, and she pointed out that it wasn’t a working monarchy, it was a job, you turn up on time, you do your research, and do the duty. It’s all about the project at hand.”
He shared this revelation about the women’s relationship: “She also pointed out that whatever charities you are involved in you, you needed to get involved and get immersed. Meghan didn’t take a lot of this to heart. According to a very good source, Meghan Markle failed to warm up to Princess Anne.”
He explained why the princess was not at all surprised by “Megxit”: “And Princess Anne always knew that Meghan would have a very short shelf-life in the world of the British Monarchy.”
“Megxit” was always there.
