Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, have announced a surprise visit to England and Germany in September.

Markle and Prince Harry’s representative announced the surprise trip by saying: “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex “are delighted to visit with several charities close to their hearts in early September.”

The pair will be in the U.K. to attend multiple charitable events and make a quick stop in Germany for Prince Harry’s Invictus Games.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are expectedd to arrive in London on September 5 and will take part in the One Young World Summit.

The Duchess of Sussex is a counselor for the One Young World Summit, alongside Justin Trudeau, Sir Richard Branson, and Jamie Oliver.

They will travel to Deutschland on September 6 for the Invictus Games “One Year to Go” event. The power couple will return to England for the Well Child Awards on September 8.

It is unknown whether Prince Harry and Markle will fly to Europe with their two children, Archie and Lilibet Diana.

However, what is known is that as a sign of respect, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle reached out to Buckingham Palace and Queen Elizabeth and let them know that they would be in London.

The Daily Beast‘s royal author and expert Tom Sykes, who was the first to report the news, explained it is a sign that the tension that existed between the Sussexes and the royal family has finally boiled down.

It has also been revealed that the Palace is receptive and relaxed about the visit that seems to be drama free and heavily focused on charity works.

The royal correspondent wrote: “In a sign that relations between the Palace and the Sussexes may be stabilizing, a source at Buckingham Palace told The Daily Beast they had received advance notice of the announcement made Monday morning but declined to say how much. The Palace seems relaxed about the visit.”

It appears that the visit is a signal of detente between the clans, and it also has an emotional component.

Professor Pauline MacLaran, of Royal Holloway, University of London, said via Express that the visit would have a “sentimental value” for Prince Harry who will want to see his 96-year-old grandmother.

MacLaran explained: “I think the announcement of their intended visits to the U.K. and Germany will certainly make for much speculation as to how much they will interact with other members of the Royal Family while they are here. I think there’s little hint of rapprochement at this stage.”

She added that the couple is “likely to want to visit the Queen for two reasons… this will be “not only because she’s Harry’s grandmother and has maintained affectionate ties with him, but also to assert themselves in this respect.”

The Queen is currently in Balmoral, Scotland for her annual summer holiday, but she is expected to travel to London to meet with the new British Prime Minister in early September.
