Fans of The Kardashians were excited to see Pete Davidson in a trailer for Season 2 of the Hulu reality show. That was before the former Saturday Night Live comedian split from Kim Kardashian.
After the breakup, they still wanted to see him in the series and learn more about the surprising nine-month relationship. However, weeks before the new season begins, many are now wondering how much of Davidson will be on the screen.
It appears that the comedy star is not interested in being part of this reality TV universe, especially after ending the romance with the beauty billionaire.
Davidson is not expected to be in more than one episode. Moreover, according to reports, he has limited clearance to just red carpet events and things that were in public.
An insider told Hollywood Life: “Pete is glad that the episode that he filmed in was such an iconic moment for Kim. It meant so much to her, and he was honored to be next to her that night when she was wearing Marilyn Monroe’s gown.”
Moreover, The King of Staten Island star does not plan on watching the show when the new season begins airing on September 22.
The source stated: “But when the season is released, as of now, he doesn’t have any plans on watching everything play out. Despite keeping a smile on his face most of the time, his close friends have seen how difficult this breakup has been for Pete. He may seem tough, but he’s a really sensitive guy when it comes down to it. He’s taking this split pretty rough and isn’t ready to watch them on screen yet.”
A second person in the know told Page Six why he is distancing himself from Kim Kardashian’s world. The insider added: “He’s in the background, but the reality world is not built for people like Pete.” The person continued: “He was not on the first season. I don’t know how they’re doing the second season, but he’s not a part of that world.”
It is clear Davidson does not intend to leave his ex to use his image for profit. Moreover, people close to him always saw reality TV as detrimental to his long-term career prospects.
It is not certain that the two sides will be able to remain friendly exes because the breakup brought up some raw feelings. The two camps are even suspicious of the other one.
Davidson’s people think Kardashian used him for a good storyline. Kardashian’s insiders say the comedian is not innocent and benefited from the relationship because it raised his profile and helped his career.
While the two things can be true, the current atmosphere signals that things could go south between people close to the two exes.
