Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck had a luxurious wedding in Georgia over the weekend with more than 130 people considered close friends and family members.
The actress looked stunning in three gowns designed by Ralph Lauren and was covered in millions of dollars worth of jewelry.
The all-white wedding was the perfect family affair that included Lopez and Affleck’s five children.
Lopez shares twins Max and Emme, 14, with ex-husband Marc Anthony and Affleck has daughters Violet, 16, Seraphina, 13, and son Sam, 10, with his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner.
The children played the important role of carrying Lopez’s extremely long veil as she walked down the aisle to Affleck.
While several pictures from the ceremony have surfaced, not many pieces of information have been leaked.
However, a source spoke to Us Weekly and claimed that the actor and filmmaker delivered an emotional speech at the wedding where he mentioned the couple’s children.
To everyone’s surprise, Affleck briefly mentioned his failed 2002 engagement with Lopez.
According to the insider, who might have been present at the event, the Oscar winner said that a blessing came from the fact that they were not able to make it down the aisle the first time — they lived separate lives and had five beautiful children.
A source told the publication: “Ben made an impassioned speech professing his love for Jennifer and her kids and said the children are the blessing and gift that happened because they didn’t get married before, and that is proof that everything happens for a reason.”
Another insider talked to PEOPLE and explained that Lopez loves having all the children with her, and it was important that they all be included in the wedding ceremony.
The person in the know told the media outlet: “Jennifer loved having all the kids there. She loved the location. It all felt very special. It was a dream for her. Now she will be a step-mom to his three kids.”
The newlywed couple is currently in Italy enjoying their second honeymoon. Lopez and Affleck had their first surprise wedding in Las Vegas with all their children present.
It was also an emotional moment where the bride and groom cried as they read their wedding vows to each other.
The family later enjoyed a trip to Paris, France, which served as their first honeymoon.
The blended family is currently living in a multi-million dollar rental in Beverly Hills as they remodel Lopez’s old Bel Air mansion.
