It has been revealed that Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen have been having marital issues since 2015, but someway, somehow, the duo managed to power through and keep the romance going.
A family friend told Page Six: “There’s been trouble in the marriage over his decision to un-retire. Gisele has always been the one with the kids. They had agreed he would retire to focus on the family, then he changed his mind.”
However, all hell broke loose in the late summer of 2022 when Tom Brady apparently betrayed his wife of 13 years by choosing his passion for football over his family life.
A friend of the duo spoke to PEOPLE to say: “[Gisele] is done with their marriage. She was upset about it for a long time, and it’s still difficult, but she feels like she needs to move on. She doesn’t believe that her marriage can be repaired.”
Via Page Six and PEOPLE Magazine, there have been reports that the supermodel and the athlete have hired divorce lawyers and the end of the relationship is imminent.
Brady, 45, and Bündchen, 42, proved that nothing could reunite them when they decided to shelter in different homes during one of Florida’s most horrific hurricanes.
Confirming that it is over between them, Brady and his estranged wife, Bündchen, have been spotted without their wedding rings on multiple occasions.
According to photos that surfaced, the Brazilian supermodel was seen out and about in Miami sans her wedding band.
Over the weekend, the NFL star decided to send a clear message by attending Robert Kraft‘s surprise wedding without his wedding ring and without Bündchen.
Bündchen took to Instagram this week to reveal why the marriage crumbled — she blamed her “inconsistent” partner.
A relationship expert weighed in on the matter by explaining what Bündchen might be dealing with because Brady is inconsistent.
Famous relationship coach Jo Hemmings told The Sun she believes that the mother of two feels “neglected and unloved” and added: “Inconsistency can also be confusing and unsettling in a relationship, and it may be that Tom is unsure of how he feels and what he does want from life, which will make Gisele feel neglected and unloved.”
She also suggested that Brady might be insecure and strongly fear that without football, he would lose himself and his purpose in this world.
She revealed: “They may also be insecure, concerned that without the validation and fulfillment of work, they lose their sense of purpose or fear others may take the roles that they feel were intended for themselves.”
All is not doomed. She shared how to save the marriage: “The only way around this is proper communication, where feelings can be talked about openly and candidly. If one or both partners have spent much of their adult lives putting their careers first, it can come as a bit of a wake-up call when they find that they need, or even want, to find the time to include family life in that embedded pattern.”
Bündchen and Brady have two children together — a son, Benjamin, 12, and a daughter, Vivian, 9. Brady is also dad to a 15-year-old son, Jack, whom he shares with ex Bridget Moynahan.
