However, it seems that the former couple has decided to start playing the blame game. Much like Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, Gisele Bündchen and Tom Brady leak embarrassing information in a new bitter war to damage each other’s reputations and public image.
A close source to the legendary football player spoke to PEOPLE Magazine and said that the supermodel is the one to be blamed for the end of the couple’s 13-year marriage.
The family friend claimed that this was not the outcome that Brady wanted and added: “Tom Brady didn’t want the kids to have divorced parents.”
Bündchen and Brady share two children — son Benjamin Rein, 12, and daughter Vivian Lake, 9.
The insider claimed that The Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback “wanted this to work out. This was not Tom’s idea, and this was never Tom’s idea.”
The pair went their separate ways because Bündchen was upset that Brady had no plans to retire from the NFL. She made her frustration evident in the statement she issued announcing the divorce.
In Gisele Bündchen’s carefully worded statement, she indicated that the children are HER priority, hinting that football is the main focus for her ex-husband.
She said in part: “My priority has always been and will continue to be our children, whom I love with all my heart. We will continue co-parenting to give them the love, care, and attention they greatly deserve.”
A source close to the businesswoman revealed to PEOPLE that Gisele Bündchen “has lived her own life for years while Tom Brady played football, so she is not afraid to do things by herself.”
Tom Brady has been doing some talking of his own since the divorce was announced.
He claimed: “Obviously, the good news is it’s a very amicable situation, and I’m really focused on two things, taking care of my family and certainly my children. We all have our unique challenges in life. We’re all humans. We do the best we can do. I have incredible parents that have always taught me the right way to do things. I want to be a great father to my children and always try to do things the right way as well.”
