After two years of a romance that went from surprising to tumultuous, Olivia Wilde and pop star Harry Styles have split.
In an official statement, a source close to the filmmaker explained that she would not be taking the same brutal route she took with her ex-husband, Jason Sudeikis.
Via PEOPLE, an Olivia Wilde insider shared that the separation was done in a very amicable manner.
According to the source, Harry Styles and Olivia Wilde have remained close friends during this painful process.
The person in the know claimed that Harry Styles and Olivia Wilde opted to go their separate ways upon discovering that they no longer have the same priorities.
Wilde will remain in California to focus on her children and career, while Styles travels the world with his Love On Tour.
The person shared: “He’s still touring and is now going abroad. She is focusing on her kids and her work in L.A. It’s a very amicable decision.”
They added: “They’re still very close friends. Right now, they have different priorities that are keeping them apart.”
Harry Styles and Olivia Wilde’s twisted and jaw-dropping romance spilled a lot of ink in the past few months for three big reasons.
First, the relationship began in the middle of Olivia Wild’s nasty divorce and custody battle with her now ex-husband, Jason Sudeikis.
Sudeikis was beyond angry that his former wife publicly humiliated him with a much younger man as he was fighting to win her back.
The Saturday Night Live alum took a nasty swipe at Wilde by having court papers served to her while she was on stage making a major presentation.
Secondly, due to the major scandals that erupted while Wilde was directing the film Don’t Worry Darling starring Styles and Florence Pugh.
Wilde and Pugh had multiple fallouts on the set of the movie, and a former staff member claimed it was because the British star was also dating Styles.
Thirdly, because of the shocking and disturbing revelations made by Jason Sudeikis and Olivia Wilde’s former nanny.
The woman spoke about one particular incident where the former SNL actor was weeping and begging Wilde not to leave him.
She also claimed that Jason Sudeikis understood that it was over when Wilde made her special salad for Styles.
She revealed a few weeks ago via The Daily Mail: “When I saw Olivia holding hands as a couple with Harry in the news [in January 2021], I was shocked as just a month before, when we were in L.A., she was sending Jason messages saying she loved him.”
She added: “Text messages and voicemails. He let me hear the voicemails and the text messages. Then Jason said, she was just here [at the house], and she was naked in the pool, and then she slept with me naked in the bed. What Jason said was that [the therapist] was feeding her crack, and Harry is her crack, that this is like an addiction she has.[The therapist] said to me, “Olivia is like an addict right now, so we have to treat her like an addict to get her back to the family. It’s like having a drug addict come back to reality.”
The nanny was thrilled to learn that Styles and Wilde had broken up.
She gleefully stated: “That’s what happens when the ugly finally comes out! I am beyond ecstatic that Harry dropped her like a hot potato! It’s still unconfirmed who dumped who, with a source close to the pair saying they’d grown apart.”
Wilde enjoyed Styles’s concert in Los Angeles right before the split was made official.
