Almost one year after the most famous slap in history, Chris Rock decided to take his revenge on Will Smith and his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith.
The comedian appeared in a Netflix comedy special, Selective Outrage. He did a brutal takedown of the now-infamous Oscar slap that he got at the hands of Will Smith after he made a joke about his wife being bald.
Rock laughed at the actress shaving her head because she is battling alopecia. The funnyman opted to film the comedy special in Jada Pinkett Smith’s hometown of Baltimore.
The actor said that Smith was angry at the entire world because his wife had feelings for August Alsina during her love affair/entanglement and decided to take it out on him.
Rock stated: “Everybody in the world called him a bitch. Everybody. Everybody. And who’s he hit? Me. A n—a he knows he could beat. That is some bitch-ass shit.”
He added: “People like, ‘Did it hurt?’ It still hurts! I got ‘Summertime’ ringing in my ears! But I’m not a victim, baby. You will never see me on Oprah or Gayle [King], crying. No. It’s never gonna happen. No. F–k that s–t. I took that hit like [former professional boxer Manny] Pacquiao.”
A source tells ET that Will Smith is “embarrassed and hurt” by Chris Rock’s Netflix comedy special, Selective Outrage. The live performance was the first time the comedian addressed the Oscar slap publicly.
Sources close to the actress told PEOPLE that she thinks that Rock is obsessed with her. She surprisingly pinned the scandal on Smith by saying she had nothing to do with this.
The friend shared: “Jada has had no part in all of this other than being heckled. Chris is obsessed with her, and that’s been going on for almost 30 years. Look where he chose to film his Netflix special. Her hometown [of Baltimore]. Obsessed.”
Rock claimed that Jada Pinkett Smith did not want him to host the Oscars.
The Pinkett Smith source denied the claim saying: “She never asked Chris to not host ever. She publicly said in a Facebook post at the time Chris would be a great Oscars host and is perfect for the job. Back in 2016, she helped start a movement with the Academy Awards by questioning why there are so few Black members, and Chris took it to this?”
Rock had some harsh words for the mother of two during the 90-minute special.
He lashed out, saying: “I did some jokes about her. Who gives a fk? That’s how it is: She starts it, and I finish it. That’s what the fk happened. Nobody’s pickin’ on this b*tch. She started this s**t. Nobody was pickin’ on her.”
The source claimed Jada Pinkett Smith was “shocked at how many times Chris used the word b*tch in referring to Jada.”
Some observers are wondering if this is the end of the slap chapter.
Maybe it’s me but when someone is using every other word a swear word I think what a bad so called comedian they are if he speaks to people the same as he tries to do comedy then I’m surprised that he hasn’t had a lot more slaps than he has if he has got a thing about her then he needs to grow up and man up cus it’s never going to happen. Look at that not one swear word but then I’m not a comedian
