Britney Spears‘s deep passion for basketball has led to what seems to be an international incident.

This week, Spears, who was vacationing in Las Vegas, was heading to a fancy restaurant for dinner when she spotted the new rising star of the NBA, French player Victor Wembanyama.

In two lengthy and emotional statements posted on Instagram, Spears shared her side of the story.

The pop diva revealed that she immediately recognized Victor Wembanyama and was eager to meet him and have a brief conversation.

Spears explained that she wanted to reach out to the French phenomenon and congratulate him on his massive success.

The young athlete recently signed with the San Antonio Spurs. According to Britney Spears, she attempted to tap Victor Wembanyama on the shoulder so he could turn around.

Videos of the incident revealed that as Spears was trying to touch Victor Wembanyama, his security guard quickly reacted to protect his client.

Spears revealed that the security guard pushed her hand away and slapped her. However, according to some people, the security guard’s fast actions caused Spears to inadvertently slap herself.

In her first statement, Spears said she was hurt by what occurred. She also said that she was sad that Wembanyama did not dispel the lies circulating online.

The entertainer claimed that she is baffled that the NBA star has not yet apologized to her. Spears had this to say: “I’ve been working in the industry for years and have been with some of the most famous people in the world … NSYNC at one point were like The Beatles … girls would throw themselves at them everywhere we went … not one time in my life has a security guard ever hit another person !!! I’m not sharing this to be a victim … I SIMPLY GET IT HONESTLY … my reaction was priceless … BAD ??? YES … I’ve had documentaries done about me and none of which I approved … ”

She added: “I have felt helpless in most situations and my experience in Vegas and my reaction was a cry out on all levels … I will say it !!! No, I don’t feel like I have been treated as an equal person in this country … of course when I watched the video myself … the people who actually swarmed around me when they heard me get hit made me feel like I mattered !!! I wasn’t aware of that at the time … all people could hear was me saying fuck you all … which was WAY BETTER THAN HITTING HIM BACK 🙄🙄 🙄 !!! Either way, I’m still a huge fan of the NBA player … it’s not his fault his security hit me … shit happens !!! I hope you’re all having a wonderful Friday !!!”

The 19-year-old has not addressed the matter, but it seems that the huge scandal is taking a toll on his mental health and performance.

Wembanyama’s NBA debut was a catastrophe against the Charlotte Hornets; he scored only nine points.
