Prince Harry loves his wife, Meghan Markle, and is willing to do almost anything to make her happy. However, as the song goes, he will not do that.
Prince Harry has surprised many by putting his foot down when it comes to Meghan Markle living her childhood Barbie dream in a Malibu mansion.
A source spoke to The Mirror and revealed that Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, weighed the pros and cons and has decided that a move to Malibu at this moment is not wise.
According to Prince Harry, they are not financially apt to keep their $14.6 million mansion in Montecito and buy a second property in Malibu.
Malibu is one of the most expensive places to live in the world. The insider claimed that Prince Harry has “no interest” in moving to Malibu because it would be “far too expensive to buy a new place and keep their Montecito mansion.”
Note that Prince Harry and Markle recently lost their massive Spotify deal and are under pressure to deliver the goods to keep their lucrative contract with Netflix.
The person in the know said: “There’s no way they can afford both Montecito and tourist-packed Malibu, which is of absolutely no interest to Harry. They looked at the area when they first moved to the US, and he wasn’t a fan.”
The source went on to share: “Harry is said to be up for visiting Malibu, but there are too many tourists and beach bums for him to want to move there permanently. There would be just one reason for Harry to agree to the move. Harry would move to the city if it benefitted his two children – Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. Homeschooling may be the norm for many high earners in the state, but Malibu’s schools are popular with celebrity parents.”
According to PEOPLE Magazine, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been seriously thinking about leaving Montecito for Malibu.
Reports claimed that the pair had already visited the area multiple times in secret to find the perfect home.
A source said: “Harry and Meghan are reviewing their living options, with Malibu being a place of interest. They have secretly visited the area a couple of times and have been out and about, looking at what’s there.”
It is claimed that Markle, (who went to see the Barbie movie for her 42nd birthday last week), loves Malibu, and it is a childhood fantasy to wake up to the most stunning beach in California.
Markle also believes a move to Malibu would benefit their careers. The source shared: “Meghan knows parts of the region from being there as a kid. It is uncertain if they will sell Montecito or just add a Malibu spot to buy. The move consideration comes as Meghan is shifting gears and focus back to Hollywood with WME.”
The Duke of Sussex and his spouse are taking their time before the next big step.
