King Charles had an unhappy Prince William chauffeur Prince Andrew to church. And now reports are claiming that Prince William fought against King Charles’s decision to be anywhere near Prince Andrew but was overruled by King Charles.
Sources told the Daily Mail: “King Charles overruled Prince William by welcoming the disgraced Duke of York back into the royal family fold.”
An insider revealed to the paper that William had no desire to be seen with Prince Andrew in public other than at events such as Christmas at Sandringham and the King’s Coronation.
Prince William is not the only one embarrassing King Charles for his decision, a top British politician has already put His Majesty on notice for cozying up to Prince Andrew.
Rachael Maskell, Labor MP for York Central, who initially pushed the bill in Parliament to strip Prince Andrew of his royal title, “slammed the idea of rehabilitating Prince Andrew’s public image” by saying: “Any rehabilitation process in terms of a public role for Prince Andrew would be unpalatable, especially when the questionable acts that he was accused of involved the possible sexual misconduct against vulnerable women.”
She added: “We want to make sure the rights of women are upheld and I don’t think we can have confidence that those would be a priority if Prince Andrew was welcomed back into any public role whatsoever.”
The Prince of Wales often disagrees with his father.
