Some say miracles do happen; others say not to hold your breath when it comes to Prince Harry and his brother, Prince William, ever repairing their damaged relationship.
A lot has transpired between the brothers, but many believe that this is the month of reconciliation. In September, Prince Harry will celebrate his 39th birthday.
No one expects King Charles III, Queen Camilla, Prince William, and Kate Middleton to publicly acknowledge Prince Harry on his special day.
However, there is loud chatter claiming that Prince William will make a private move towards Prince Harry.
One royal expert and former palace staff member is adamant that Prince William will reach out to Prince Harry via phone call or text message on his birthday.
Grant Harrold, who was one of King Charles’s staff members for seven years, did an interview to say that he is betting on Prince William to extend an olive branch on Prince Harry’s special day.
Harold claimed that King Charles might join the heir to the throne and make a gesture towards Prince Harry.
He stated: “If they chat on WhatsApp, he might get a text, or he might get an email. I hope they do reach out. I’d like to think William would pick up the phone to wish him a happy birthday. But you never know. We will probably never know. It would be the opportunity for his dad to reach out, and offer an olive branch.”
Harrold explained why the positive move might happen now by saying, “This is the perfect time for them to check in.”
He pointed out that Prince Harry should respond accordingly and make sure to reach out to his brother and father on their birthdays.
He revealed: “I would hope that Harry would do the same to them on their birthdays. I think the damage has already been done now, and I think at this moment in time, I don’t see it dramatically changing.”
Harrold went on to say that the Royal Family set precedent with the manner in which they handled Meghan Markle‘s birthday— no public acknowledgments for non-working royals.
He claimed: “Well, it was only just Meghan’s birthday, and it wasn’t mentioned by the royal family at all. It’s a bit weird. Even though they’re not working royals anymore, they would always have mentions on social media, and suddenly it’s come to a stop. It could be similar for Harry’s birthday too.”
On Prince Harry’s birthday, he will be in Germany with his wife, Meghan Markle, to take part in the Invictus Games.
According to the royal commentator, Prince Harry will have his family on his mind.
Harrold claimed: “Family is going to be at the forefront of Harry’s mind. There will be a part of him thinking about everything that has happened. Family has always been a big thing to Harry. William and Kate are also in Balmoral with Charles now, and Harry used to be going up there every summer. So that will be playing a big part in what he’s thinking. He will be missing out on that.”
After Prince Harry’s bombshell revelations, Prince William, via his close friends, made it clear that he hated his brother and no longer wanted to have any kind of relationship with him, which is why many believe the birthday outreach will not happen.
