There was a time when Prince Harry and his sister-in-law, Kate Middleton, were very close. At some point, Prince Harry publicly professed his love and friendship for Middleton by calling her the sister he never had.
However, his decision to leave England with his wife, Meghan Markle, created physical, and emotional distance with Middleton.
According to royal insiders, Kate Middleton’s public actions confirmed that she and Prince Harry still had a relationship. There is at least one instance where Middleton attempted to reunite the warring brothers.
At Prince Philip‘s funeral, Middleton took concrete actions to push Prince William and Prince Harry to communicate.
It was claimed that behind the scenes, Catherine, Princess of Wales, tried and failed many times at the role of peacemaker between Prince Harry and Prince William.
However, Prince William’s wife made the decision to further step back from Prince Harry with the publication of Spare.
According to royal expert Katie Nicholl, Prince Harry’s disparaging and deprecating comments in Spare were the straw that broke the camel’s back.
She revealed to The Sun: “When you think of the personal revelations, and I think you can call them snide remarks made about Kate in Spare, Harry broke the one rule and that is staying silent on family matters.”
In the book, Prince Harry explained that Middleton was cold towards Markle and she made her cry. He also leaked personal text messages shared between his wife and sister-in-law.
Prince Harry hinted that he was not welcomed by Prince William and Kate Middleton once they started their family. Nicholl added: “While Kate and Harry used to be very, very close, there’s been a complete breakdown of that relationship. I don’t think Kate does angry. I think it is more a case of feeling very disappointed, very let down, and feeling hurt knowing that she had no right of reply – and Harry knew full well she had no right of reply.”
Nicholl concluded by: “[Kate] acted very much as the peacekeeper, she tried to get the brothers back on an even keel and for Kate to be dragged into this mucky saga was upsetting for her and certainly did infuriate William.”
The latest reports from Middleton’s camp reveal that she will not be able to forgive Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Middleton has also decided to use her charm and experience as a royal to fight back against the accusations and revelations.
She is determined to be queen one day, and no one will stop her.
