It seems that Barack and Michelle Obama will have some interesting company soon: Meghan Markle or maybe not.
According to a new report, Meghan Markle has a lucrative deal on the table, and she is very excited, even giggly, about it.
Sources, who spoke to The Mirror, have revealed that Markle has managed to brilliantly rebound from her failed deal with Spotify.
Over the summer, the streaming giant ended its $20 million contract with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. The former actress was able to present the company with her well-received and short-lived Archetypes podcast.
According to the royal insider who talked to The Mirror, via Page Six, Markle has been able to etch out a new deal.
It is claimed that Markle has landed a multimillion-dollar contract with Amazon’s podcast production partner, Audible. The person in the know said it was “make or break for her Hollywood dream.”
The source went on to say there would be many zeros on Markle’s check and added: “Word of mouth is spreading that it will lead to a huge payout — even bigger than the millions Spotify splashed out.”
The insider told the outlet that Markle is delighted to be in the company of former President Barack Obama and former first lady and best-selling author Michelle Obama.
The power couple recently left Spotify for Audible. The person familiar with the situation claimed: “And Meghan is thrilled that she’ll be in the company of Michelle and Barack Obama [who signed a deal with Audible in 2022].”
Markle was said to be devastated and desperate by the loss of the Spotify deal. The source stated that this new deal has been a boost to her morale and ego, and added: “Meghan seems very confident at the moment, but the reality is that she’s been in a pretty desperate spot. Losing the Spotify deal was a massive blow to her, not to mention her ego. She’s been pretty lost since, but this deal could turn everything around.”
The insider said Markle is eager to work with Audible but added that it “doesn’t mean this isn’t seriously daunting.”
The tipster concluded by: “She hardly sleeps thanks to the pressure of it all but knows that the pressure will only get worse if she lands the deal — it will be make or break. Hollywood’s power brokers will be aware of just how [Markle and Prince Harry] fumbled on the Spotify deal, so they fear that getting dropped twice would be the end of their brand, as nobody would trust they could deliver the content. The stakes are extremely high.”
However, some insiders claimed that Markle has not inked any deals. An Audible spokesperson gave Page Six this statement on the story: “There is no truth to the report and we aren’t in negotiations with Markle.”
As always in Hollywood, business, and life, time will tell what is true and what is fabricated.
