Tom Cruise has decided not to play a part in Suri Cruise‘s life, and for the first time, she has hinted at how she feels about that decision.
Suri Cruise is the 17-year-old daughter of Tom Cruise and his ex-wife, Katie Holmes.
The power couple filed for divorce in 2012; according to court documents, Tom Cruise, a high-profile member of the Church of Scientology, picked his religion and ideologies over his youngest child.
The pair have been estranged for the past 12 years. And oftentimes, people close to Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes speak to the media about their nonexistent relationship.
However, this week, Suri Cruise appeared to remove the veil on her position on the situation with Tom Cruise via a simple gesture. According to a fan account and Page Six, Suri Cruise confirmed her passion and interest in the arts.
The media outlet explained that Suri Cruise landed the leading role in her high school play and made the move to omit Tom Cruise’s name from her bio for privacy and because she does not want to be seen as yet another nepo baby using her famous father or mother to have a career.
The publication revealed: “We hear Suri played Morticia Addams in The Addams Family: A New Musical.”
The teen is wearing a gorgeous black dress, matching gloves and booties. Suri Cruise looked like a real star, at ease and commanding the stage as she delivered her lines.
One impressed audience member said: “She was amazing.” While a supporter said they hope that she will have a more impressive career than her parents.
The publication went on to reveal: “Suri isn’t going the nepo baby route, however. We hear the senior’s bio made no note of her parents, and instead graciously thanked her teachers and fellow student cast and crew.”
While there is little hope that Suri Cruise will star in a major movie with her father, her mother, Katie Holmes, has revealed that she sees the talent in her daughter and is eager to work with her on future projects.
Beaming about her daughter, Katie Holmes said: “I always want the highest level of talent, so I asked her! She’s very, very talented. I hope she always does something in my films. I always ask her.”
Suri Cruise covered Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart’s 1934 classic “Blue Moon” which served as the opening credits of Holmes’s 2022 film Alone Together.
The teenager also lent her vocals to her mother’s 2023 directorial debut, Rare Objects.
