In the past few weeks, Prince William has been forced to look in the mirror and reflect on his life as the future King of England who is learning from King Charles III‘s experiences and failures.
He is also the father of three children whom he must shield, a brother who no longer sees eye to eye with Prince Harry, and a husband to Kate Middleton.
The relationship between Middleton and Prince William is more than solid, according to their close friends, despite the countless rumors of infidelity involving Rose Hanbury and the reports that they get into screaming matches and throw pillows at each other.
However, after the publication of Endgame, Prince William felt that he failed in one domain: protecting Kate Middleton from the media chaos, the vile revelations, and the invasive and inappropriate accusations.
The floodgates opened with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle sitting down with Oprah Winfrey and telling the world that Kate Middleton hurt her sister-in-law and made her cry.
During the Netflix series Harry & Meghan, the couple stated that Middleton is not as friendly as she appears to be, and she does not like to hug or show warmth to people.
Prince Harry continued to assault Kate Middleton’s personality and reputation by leaking, in his bombshell memoir Spare, a series of private text messages that she initially sent to Meghan Markle during their now-infamous bridesmaid dress drama.
The last straw came in Endgame, where author Omid Scobie humiliated Kate Middleton by calling her “lazy, coachable, and cold.”
The royal biographer wrote that Middleton was “cold” and claimed she was “coachable” for her role within the Firm.
He also claimed that Middleton is “technically a part-time working royal” while adding that her lifestyle is something most parents could “only dream of”.
He also nicknamed her “Katie Keen” because palace press releases excuse her reduced workload by saying she is “keen to learn.”
According to one royal expert, Prince William feels “guilty and angry” and believes that he failed to keep the sacred “promise” he made to Princess Kate and her parents, Carole and Michael Middleton.
Prince William told the Middleton family that the future Queen would be protected, and he feels he did not deliver.
Now, royal expert Jennie Bond told OK! that the Prince of Wales is fuming because he cannot control the situation, and continued: “William feels guilty and angry because he promised Kate’s parents that he would protect and look after her. There’s obviously a lot of baggage that comes with this – it’s a unique and different life which you’ve got to have a very thick skin for.”
The expert added that Prince William admires the way his wife has been handling the pressure and sacrifices that come with the title of Princess of Wales.”
She said: “Kate has demonstrated that she’s the real deal, and William constantly shows that he’s hugely proud of her. Kate’s strength is drawn from the fact that she was given such a long apprenticeship – those nine or ten years that she was allowed to see a little bit of what life would be like in the royal court were completely invaluable.”
The future King is dealing with a lot of pressure.
