Kate Middleton has recently rattled the royal sphere with the shocking announcement of her planned abdominal surgery at The London Clinic.
The mother of three, who recently celebrated her 42nd birthday, has many of her royal backers concerned about the news. Thus far, the Royal Family has decided to keep the matter private. However, PEOPLE Magazine noted that the health issue is non-cancerous.
According to Woman’s Health, abdominal surgery is performed for health issues including hernia repair, the removal of malignant tumors, gallbladder removal, and lesion removal. As well as non-cancerous growths such as lipomas.
Kensington Palace issued a statement explaining that Princess Kate will remain in the hospital for at least two weeks after the successful surgery.
The alarming statement also revealed that Kate Middleton will resume her royal duties in late April or early May. The official statement read: “The Princess of Wales is not expected to return to royal duties until after Easter. The surgery was successful, and it is expected that she will remain in the hospital for 10 to 14 days, before returning home to continue her recovery. Based on the current medical advice, she is unlikely to return to public duties until after Easter.”
The statement went on to say: “The Princess of Wales appreciates the interest this statement will generate. She hopes that the public will understand her desire to maintain as much normality for her children as possible; and her wish that her personal medical information remains private. Kensington Palace will, therefore, only provide updates on Her Royal Highness.”
In the statement, Kate Middleton thanked her fans and loyalists for all their support and words of heartening. It has been revealed that Prince William will postpone some public duties to care for his wife and their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and, Prince Louis.
However, there is one interesting fact that many royal experts have been fuming about. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have yet to issue any form of response to the current heartbreaking situation involving their sister-in-law.
Some critics went as far as speculating that they may be saving their response for their next interview or big speech. A few said they may be so in shock, that they are taking time to gather themselves before taking any further action.
Other defenders of the power couple say that they might have shared well wishes with Prince William’s wife in private. According to Kensington Palace and other close sources, Kate Middleton, despite her health issues, is apologetic about not being able to perform her duties as the future Queen to the fullest and being out of the public eye for several months.
The statement said: “The Princess of Wales wishes to apologize to all those concerned for the fact that she has to postpone her upcoming engagements. She looks forward to reinstating as many as possible, as soon as possible.”
Buckingham Palace has also revealed that King Charles III is being treated for an enlarged prostate and will go to the hospital next week.
This is an unprecedented situation in the royal world, with two seniors hospitalized and the future King cutting back on his duties to be present for his family.
