There has been a lot about Kate Middleton in the past few weeks, but many are still wondering about King Charles III and his youngest son, Prince Harry. More specifically, what is the status of their relationship?
King Charles, who is undergoing cancer treatment, received a surprise visit from Prince Harry, who dropped everything to be with his beloved “pa.”
The meeting lasted less than 30 minutes, and in about 24 hours, Prince Harry was in Las Vegas on stage, giving out a huge award and laughing.
Prince Harry was later interviewed on Good Morning America, confirming that he plans to visit his ailing father as often as possible.
Prince Harry confessed: “I jumped on a plane and went to see him as soon as I could. Look, I love my family. The fact that I was able to get on a plane and go and see him and spend any time with him, I’m grateful for that.”
He continued: “I’ve got other trips planned that will take me through the U.K., or back to the U.K., and so I’ll stop in and see my family as much as I can.”
There has been an update on the situation. According to The Daily Mail, the father and son have reached an agreement — the pair plans to meet again.
The media outlet shared: “Harry and Charles could meet again after their emotional reunion, but there is no sign of a thawing in the ‘incredibly broken’ relationship between The Duke of Sussex and his brother William.”
King Charles, despite his health issues, has been able to take part in several engagements in the past few weeks. His Majesty is said to be fighting to keep a normal and busy schedule that includes seeing his grandchildren.
King Charles finds time to bond with Kate Middleton and Prince William‘s children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
King Charles is hopeful that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will make it possible for him to see Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet more often.
Royal expert and publicist Lynn Carratt suggested that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will do the responsible thing vis-à-vis King Charles.
She told The Mirror: “Since King Charles’ cancer diagnosis and Harry’s swift trip across the pond, I think it has dawned on Harry just how crucial family is to him. I suspect he’ll want to bring his children, Lilibet and Archie, to the UK to visit their grandad.”
She went on to say that now that Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet are older, they can start creating memories with King Charles.
Carratt shared: “Meetings with The King have been infrequent, and they don’t have a relationship with their maternal grandfather, so I believe Harry would like to strengthen their bond with King Charles. Now that the children are a bit older, I am certain Archie and Lilibet will be making more frequent visits to the UK.”
She went on to make a rather unrealistic prediction about Prince Harry and Prince William bonding over their father’s illness.
She concluded by: “There is also hope that their father’s illness will bring Harry and William closer together in the future and allow Archie and Lilibet to become closer to George, Charlotte, and Louis. But this will take time.”
Some observers wonder if father and son will finally fix their relationship for good.
