Recently, Queen Camilla took a brief vacation, and it seems that she took the opportunity to send a clear message to Meghan Markle.
Queen Camilla was said to be exhausted after taking part in 13 engagements. She has been forced to step up and be the de facto leader of the Royal Family as King Charles III is battling cancer and Kate Middleton has been resting after undergoing abdominal surgery.
The 76-year-old Queen decided to take a week-long holiday to recuperate after hosting multiple events on behalf of the British institution.
The Palace declined to say where Queen Camilla went, but international media was quick to resolve the mystery. It has been confirmed that Queen Camilla flew to Spain for a short yet relaxing séjour where she enjoyed spa treatments and hunting.
According to The Daily Express, Her Majesty booked a stay at a very famous Spanish finca estate. The media outlet reported: “Spanish journalist Marisa Martin Blazques revealed on the TV program TardeAR that Camilla jetted to the European country for some sunshine for a few days.”
According to the television contributor, Camilla came to “hunt partridges” in a luxury finca used by former King Juan Carlos and other members of the Spanish nobility and aristocracy in Ciudad Real, south of the capital Madrid.
The publication went on to explain why the resort is ideal for The Queen: “It is not known exactly where the Queen stayed; however, the Duke of Westminster’s La Garganta estate is located nearby in the same province. Hugh Grosvenor, the 7th Duke of Westminster, is a close friend to Prince William and godfather to Prince George, and he is also one of the wealthiest men in Britain.”
The estate was once visited by Prince Harry and Prince William for hunting purposes. The outlet continued: “His huge Spanish estate has previously played host to William and his younger brother Prince Harry, who traveled there to go hunting like Camilla.”
Queen Camilla will certainly make Meghan Markle’s blood boil with her decision to kill wild animals as a sport or hobby. Markle, an animal lover, is firmly against hunting and has influenced Prince Harry to put an end to the royal tradition.
British primatologist Dame Jane Goodall explained that The Duke of Sussex gave up his passion because of his spouse.
Goodall, a friend of Prince Harry and the former actress, revealed: “But I think Harry will stop because Meghan doesn’t like hunting, so I suspect that is over for him.”
The Guardian shared that Prince Harry was heavily criticized for slaughtering animals: “Critics have condemned their participation in Sandringham Boxing Day shoots at the Queen’s Norfolk estates. In 2014, a 10-year-old photograph of Harry emerged showing him crouched over the body of a water buffalo he had shot dead during a hunting trip on his 2004 gap year in South America. In 2014, the brothers went on a deer and wild boar hunting trip in Spain a day before William launched a high-profile appeal to stop the illegal hunting of wildlife.”
Many believe this is Queen Camilla’s way of giving the finger to Markle’s way of doing things and confirming that reconciliation is certainly not in the cards.
