Queen Camilla Issues Official Statement To Fight Reports That She Overstepped On Prince William And Kate Middleton’s Most Sacred Rule

This week, Queen Camilla realized that some clarification was in order after reports surfaced claiming that she might have inadvertently rubbed Kate Middleton the wrong way.

It started with an innocent comment that snowballed into a mini-scandal. While King Charles III is recovering from cancer, his wife has become the de facto leader of the Royal Family.

Queen Camilla has performed multiple royal engagements, while King Charles is undergoing treatment and getting some much-deserved rest.

She recently delivered a speech on behalf of her husband on the Isle of Man, and afterward spent a few minutes chatting with a handful of loyal supporters.

Queen Camilla was introduced to 15-week-old twins Louie and Oliver. While chatting with the parents of the adorable toddlers, Queen Camilla said: “I have a Louis grandson… quite a handful.”

The media ran the theory that Queen Camilla was talking about Princess Kate and Prince William‘s youngest son, Prince Louis.

The bubbly and energetic Prince Louis has gone viral on multiple public appearances for his cheeky antics, forcing Middleton to rush into loving yet firm mommy mode to avoid headline-making situations.

However, as it turns out, Queen Camilla was talking about her own grandson. In an official statement, Her Majesty explained that she was actually talking about her teen grandson, Louis Lopes.

Queen Camilla’s daughter, Laura Lopes, is mom to Eliza and 15-year-old twins Gus and Louis.

Hello! magazine that originally reported the story, said they received an official statement from Buckingham Palace clarifying the misunderstanding.

The media outlet shared: “Buckingham Palace has since clarified that The Queen was referring to grandson Louis Lopes.”

Many believe that the statement was quickly issued for two reasons: Kate Middleton is battling cancer and does not need any kind of drama in her life at the moment.

Middleton should not be harassed for Prince Louis’s silly hand-waving and tongue-sticking behavior because most children give their parents a run for their money, especially when out in public. It is worth noting that Prince Louis is only 5 years old.

Additionally, Queen Camilla wanted to make it clear that she respected Prince William’s most personal and sacred rule and that she could not replace Princess Diana in the role of grandmother. Princess Catherine supports her husband on this issue.

Angela Levin, the author of the book Camilla: From Outcast to Queen Consort, said the heir to the throne has put a rule in place for his stepmother.

The royal author shared: “William has made it clear that Camilla is the wife of his father, but not a stepmother to his children.”

According to the book: Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis have “two grandfathers but only one grandmother.”

Tina Brown confirmed the rule in The Palace Papers where she explains that Queen Camilla has never tried to “take over any responsibility as a step-grandmother to the Cambridges’ children.”

Fans of the Royal Family appreciate the quick clarification.
