To convince Prince Harry to have the Invictus Games in the UK, the British government has forked out over 26 million dollars.
The funding will ensure that the games, which are in honor of the world’s best and most dedicated — wounded soldiers — get the spectacular event that they deserve.
The government is ready to put the spotlight on the upcoming games by having a major event in May at St. Paul’s Cathedral. Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, and their young children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, are expected to attend.
Markle has made it clear that the important games are part of Prince Harry’s legacy, and she wants their children to be part of it and possibly contribute to it when they get older.
It seems that there might be some strings attached to the promise of having the most incredible 2027 Invictus Games in Birmingham.
The people behind the games would like Prince William to play a major part in the sporting competition if Prince Harry decided to hold it on British soil.
According to royal expert Neil Sean, Prince William can bring something that Prince Harry and Markle desperately need — money.
The FOX News writer revealed on his show: “The Invictus games, but as the celebrations come up over here, the 10th anniversary in May, which, of course, is going to be set to a wonderful celebration at St. Paul’s Cathedral.”
He went on to point out why the bosses behind the games believe that Prince William’s presence would be beneficial and lead to great success, by saying: “The bosses behind the event, of Invictus, would very much like Prince William to attend. Now this really, whether Harry and Meghan like it or not, is pivotal. As we learned, his Royal Highness Prince William was very kind, donating a sizable chunk of the money to the Invictus. Something that Harry failed to mention while speaking about his elder brother inside the court. I thought that was a little below the belt, to be brutally honest with you. You know, because if somebody donates so much to the charity, recognition is the name of the game.”
The organizers have created a great dilemma for Prince Harry and Markle by forcing the idea of Prince William and even Kate Middleton into the mix.
He shared: “By having a proper royal attached to this event, people will want to sponsor things associated with the Prince of Wales, which means Harry and Meghan have a huge dilemma.”
Sean concluded by: “Hopefully Katherine will be involved at some point in the celebration of the Invictus, something that he was very much part of from the very start. Now it’s going to be rather tough, of course, for Harry, Megan, William, and Catherine because it really will show who needs who to make these wonderful events like the Invictus such a success.”
Some observers say that The Duke of Sussex could use the situation to reconcile with The Prince of Wales for good.
