Whether Prince Harry and Prince William want to admit it, they have been fighting for King Charles III‘s approval and heart.
Despite Prince Harry’s many revelations and criticism and his decision to attack his father in the interviews and his book, he attempted to perform a delicate dance of showing admiration for The Sovereign.
He also confessed to loving his dad. The Duke of Sussex demonstrated how much he cared for King Charles when he dropped everything and flew to London immediately after the King‘s cancer diagnosis announcement.
As for Prince William, he has repeatedly shown his father love, affection, and a great deal of respect.
However, this week, it was confirmed that Prince William had found a way to win his father’s heart over Prince Harry via Kate Middleton.
Sources from the Palace revealed that King Charles was already close to Middleton, but their shared health struggles created a stronger bond.
A Palace source said: “Since the princess and the King’s cancer diagnoses, the King has remained in the closest contact with his beloved daughter-in-law throughout the past weeks…their conditions have brought them closer than ever.”
Confirming that King Charles now views Middleton as the daughter he never had, he recognized Prince Kate‘s importance in the British monarchy by bestowing on her the high honor of the royal Companion of the Order of the Companions.
Kate Mansey, a royal columnist and editor, shared in The Times: “On Tuesday, the ever-growing bond between the King and Kate became official when he appointed his “beloved daughter-in-law” a Royal Companion of the Order of the Companions of Honour. It is a unique award — this is the first time a member of the royal family has been appointed to the Companions of Honour. It comes with historical grounding, founded by King George V in 1917 to recognize outstanding achievements in the arts, sciences, medicine, and public service. Contemporary recipients include Paul McCartney, JK Rowling, Delia Smith, and Elton John. Yet even those names would struggle to reach the star appeal that the Princess of Wales brings to the British monarchy.”
Insiders confirmed that Princess Kate has become a bridge between King Charles and Prince William.
Kate Middleton, who grew up with loving parents and supportive siblings, has always strongly advised her husband to work out the situation with King Charles and Queen Camilla for the sake of the family and the institution.
The site shared: “Kate provides a bridge between father and son, and their relationship gives insight into what sort of father Charles might have been to a daughter.”
According to the expert, Meghan Markle could have been in that position if “Megxit” had not happened. She revealed: “The same might have been true with Meghan had the Duke and Duchess of Sussex decided to stick around. Charles was proud to walk Meghan down the aisle on her wedding day when her father was too ill to attend. And there was a part of Meghan’s 5 am energy that no doubt appealed to the hard-working King.”
Prince William is the ultimate winner in the war for dear Papa’s heart and approval, thanks to his perfect daughter-in-law.
