Brad Pitt is going through an emotional turmoil at the moment, but he has seen a silver lining. It has been confirmed that five out of six of Brad Pitt’s children have dropped his last name.
Sources claimed that Maddox, Zahara, Shiloh, Pax, and Vivienne had all removed Pitt from their moniker in a show of alliance with their mother, Angelina Jolie.
It is unclear if Pitt and Jolie’s teen son, Knox, still uses his father’s name. The last one to change her name is Shiloh.
The dancer waited days after her 18th birthday to hire a lawyer with her own money and asked a judge to change her name. Sources say that Shiloh’s decision hit Pitt like a crater from the sky.
A family friend told Us Weekly: “He wishes their relationship was stronger and wants to work on that; he is disappointed he doesn’t see the kids as often as he’d like to. After years of legal battles, Brad still isn’t ready to give up on his children. But knowing his children are dropping his last name is upsetting.”
Brad Pitt strongly believes that Angelina Jolie is the source behind the painful situation with his children. The insider explained to Page Six: “She has used the kids as a weapon against Brad … she has separated them from him. There is a whole pattern: Any time he has a win in court, she hits back with something to do with the kids.”
Nonetheless, Pitt has some positive life-changing news coming his way. According to insiders close to the actor, he and his longtime girlfriend, Ines de Ramon, are eager to start a family.
One person in the know claimed that Pitt believes he will be a better father this time. They continued: “In other words, their relationship is smooth sailing and drama-free. He’s in it with Ines for the long run. After everything he’s been through with his children, he’s keen to make a fresh start and create new memories.”
Pitt, 60, feels he is not getting younger and wants to share this precious gift with de Ramon, 34. The source said: “Brad‘s not getting any younger, so it’s something they would like sooner rather than later. He’s even joked about doing the school run in his 70s and hopes that he’ll still be seen as a heartthrob.”
The insider explained to The Mirror that there is another reason that the pair has been thinking about having children — they are now closer than ever because or thanks to the lengthy drama with ex-wife Angelina Jolie.
The source shared: “His legal woes with Angelina have brought them closer together. She has been a real source of comfort to Brad.”
