Kate Middleton decided to handle her health issues away from the public eye. Princess Kate canceled all engagements, opting to focus on her family and treatment.
King Charles III took a very different route. His Majesty has been open with the public, regularly giving updates on his treatment and condition.
Robert Hardman told The Daily Beast: “He’s the head of state, so there’s a public right to know if he can fulfill his duties. There was a decision not to be too heavy-handed about privacy. When he came to London for treatment, he chose to travel in a state car so people could see him. With the princess, it was different; she’s a young, energetic mother of three, and the decision was made to keep it private. She doesn’t have a constitutional role, so she’s entitled to treat it as she wishes.”
Despite the weighty health ordeal, His Majesty has been very active, even against his staff and wife Queen Camilla‘s wishes.
The Monarch has taken part in royal engagements in the UK and fought to have his first royal tour as sovereign in Australia, demonstrating his commitment to his duties and the public.
It has now been revealed why King Charles has been so brave, to some extent, defiant during his cancer struggles.
This is, unfortunately, not his first health scare with the disease. King Charles has faced a cancer battle before, as per The Daily Beast.
According to The Daily Beast, King Charles faced a cancer battle before. The publication did not reveal when and which type of cancer The King struggled with before the 2024 diagnosis.
It was also confirmed that King Charles’s health issues pushed him to understand and connect better with people who were struck with disease.
He has spent countless hours in charitable events and organizations dedicated to eradicating the illness.
King Charles has a deep knowledge of the sites because of his dedication to helping others.
The outlet revealed: “Hardman also learned from “people close to him both now and in the past” that The King had faced a cancer scare before, although details about it have not been revealed. People tend to forget he’s been active in the cancer field for a long time, especially through organizations like Marie Curie. Every Christmas, before going to his family Christmas, he visits a hospice. He probably has more expertise in cancer than most health ministers.”
The King has put the British monarchy first, through it all.
