Kate Middleton has been known for keeping her head down and handling the monarchy’s business for more than two decades.
Princess Kate has shown her loyalty to the late Queen and now to King Charles III.
After a brutal year of battling cancer, Kate Middleton has found the strength to come back into the spotlight to serve the British nation.
While the mother of three had to modify her work schedule to adapt to her physical and mental state, Middleton has upheld her work ethic.
Prince William’s wife has remained gracious and generous during all of her engagements and appearances.
More than 20 years in the Royal Family and in the media, Middleton has brilliantly navigated the situation by remaining scandal-free and avoiding all traps that could have embarrassed the century-old institution.
With all of that in mind, some journalists have been claiming that Middleton should be rewarded. Reports have been circulating in the past months claiming that an exception should be made and the princess’ parents should be honored with titles when Prince William becomes King.
According to Vanity Fair: “There are rumors in English high society that Carole and Michael, who went out of their way to help William and Kate when the princess was being treated for cancer (and continue to support them now that their daughter’s illness is in remission), deserve to receive the title of earls. However, no such precedent appears in history: family members of a queen consort have never received such an honor.”
It would be a personal honor for the future Queen’s consort parents, who love William as their own and played a pivotal role when Kate was ill, to be recognized for their dedication and loyalty.
Many believed that if William, when he is Monarch, has the power to possibly strip relatives of titles, he certainly has the same authority to give special titles to others who have stood by him firmly through the ups and downs.
It will be an uphill battle because only those who are born or marry into the Royal Family traditionally receive hereditary titles.
However, the Monarch always has the discretion to change and break the rules for the happiness of his beloved wife and supportive in-laws.
